SOME TIPS FOR BUYING A USED SKID LOADER, SKID STEER OR BOBCAT

What happens here

Perform a comprehensive visual inspection of the entire machine's exterior. Look for overall cleanliness, paying particular attention to the condition of the engine access door, which can show signs of rough handling or neglect. Inspect the wheels and tires for excessive wear, baldness, or any visible grease leaks from the hubs. Carefully examine all hydraulic seals and cylinders for leaks, which often appear as drips or wet spots. A highly effective method for detecting active leaks is to place a large piece of cardboard underneath the entire machine. After running the skid steer for about 30 minutes, operating the bucket and hydraulics, remove the cardboard and check for any drips. This will reveal leaks from hydraulic systems, engine seals, or other fluid lines that might not be immediately obvious.

Goal: Identify external wear, damage, and active fluid leaks.
