Simple, yet SATISFYING #building #carpentry

What happens here

Begin by selecting a flat piece of metal sheet, often referred to as coil stock or flat stock, suitable for the desired application (e.g., aluminum or steel). Carefully slide the metal sheet into the opening of the metal bending brake, positioning it so that the edge to be bent aligns precisely with the bending line of the machine. Ensure the material is inserted to the correct depth, which would have been pre-measured to achieve the desired flange width.

Goal: Position the flat metal sheet for the initial bend.

Tools and materials

  • Metal Bending Brake — The primary machine used to bend sheet metal
  • RIDGID Sawhorse RIDGID — Supporting the metal bending brake at a working height
  • Metal Sheet — The raw material to be bent into flashing
