Simple, Quick and Easy How to Replace the Steering Wheel Chevy or GMC Truck
What happens here
To remove the airbag, rotate the steering wheel 90 degrees to either side to access small tabs located on the back of the steering wheel. Insert a small, flat-tip screwdriver into these tabs and gently pry until you hear a 'pop,' releasing the airbag on each side. Once released, the airbag module can be carefully pulled forward. Then, locate the yellow electrical connector on the back of the airbag. Pull up on the small yellow tab to unlock the connector, and then gently pull the connector free. Set the airbag safely aside, face up, away from the work area.
Goal: Safely detach the airbag module from the steering wheel.
