Sick Week 2022: LSXcalade Racing and Driving Florida Days 1-3! (New Engine Untested & Surprising)

don't condone this but when you when you have to do something you have to do it well we made it to sick week we are completely untested i have no idea all we did since the escalade got put back together is drove a couple miles down the road to dei did a burnout and slid around on the snow what you saw in the video is all this thing is done so we put it back together we haven't made any white open poles yet nothing don't know what it's going to do now on top of the uncertainty we have new tires on here this all new size for mickey thompson et street ours it's a 315 55 17 these things are like 30 inches tall and they look a lot different i'm really not sure how it's going to like these what do you think do you like the look leave a comment do you think it looks better yeah i like the week with these guys in escalator the very first time ever they helped me put the blower on it all that stuff and they are very unprepared how last minute was the ruler throttle linkage that was for jim yeah that was another thing was supposed to get touched up and fixed we have a cable for it but we're probably going to the roller stainless and nice sturdy [Music] i guess you don't have to measure if you build your stuff out of a ruler because the measurements are already on there steve's tech tip of the day yes that's a good one it's very good yeah so we're just been in the tech lane for like forever here and we're learning things what have we learned i can't just throw myself back there because i'm gonna hit my head on the cage 6 14. we got in line right before been here all day almost there people in line behind us have gotten by already apparently we got the slowest lane here good sick week day one but leave the hotel in the morning see how it's all milky in there yeah pretty sure there's some water left over in the system and i'm pretty sure what we're about to do will fix it but we'll see i had this happen once i mean the power steering works fine when you're moving but at low speed it's like not not happy you well now there's a problem the extendo tube is stuck in there yeah fixed drunk in the parking lot they might not always like it but if you need something else you can just go back in and get it told the guy what i was dealing with and he pulled out this thing pretty sweet let's see if it'll work yeah well what i'm going to do is i'm going to put some more fluid in there run it pump it out again joining the plug it does run well i happened to get some water inside the power steering system when it was all apart cleaning it yeah i thought you were cleaning off the carburetor or something well yeah it might as well be i think doesn't idle for crap cool you all ready rock or what i guess we don't need to steer that well it'll be okay the front axle drive where you got to go right where are you joining the party for i need sparkle oh like in bulk so we're going to every heart store we can find and just grabbing all the ngks sorry [Music] the filler tube thingy fell off in the jug of atf again so i'll take that as a sign then we just need to hit the road and we can address this more later if we need to hey man cool shirt hey thanks man you guys are better late than never i guess huh yeah we had to mess with the power steering if you haven't seen the other videos with the yukon this is my dad this is your first time seeing this thing ever make a pass isn't it it is ever since the history of forever could be you you didn't know i was taking this thing to the track for the first year that i used to do that definitely didn't know that yeah i wouldn't let you do it if you told me and now we're standing here so you did good sometimes you gotta ask for permission later and ask for forgiveness how does that go i ask for forgiveness not prison all right i've raised the mattress in the back before i feel like i might get a ride here nobody else can have passengers in their race car no okay now we gotta tighten the chains down and stuff and thanks yeah and other things yeah that's what i was going to say so we're about to run booze controllers off that's cooper man it has been a long time and i'm really gonna disappoint everybody because we're not gonna go fast hello [Music] well i'm something of a four-wheel drive guy myself and uh you know you have four tires for traction not for smoke shows but if you're gonna do it you need to do it big like he did so i know from a racing standpoint that's probably not what his goal was but it was freaking cool like that's that's sending her that's giving her the beans these radials don't like water we learned that normally we'd run again but i don't want to it's day one not worth it whatever it is turning it in and we're going to the next place the way the power steering is i decided not to go around the water just because it's so hard to move when the when the truck's not moving and uh that is why that happened really didn't expect it to spin i mean i thought it would but it lit up better than it normally did like i think these heads actually made a big difference oh yeah 12-0 and 134 we're really setting the bar high 2.3 60 foot 8.3 in the eighth this thing went faster than that when it had a lsa on it it could be worse if i broke my engine in half i'd go home yeah that can't be what they're doing i guess it's a little bit he doesn't have another engine but honda world's a little bit different i guess yeah definitely not a great first day well we went nate with my dad that was all good hung out for a little bit now we are on the road to where this thing tells us to go avon park depot museum car park something i don't know so we're gonna find some e85 and fill up on the way one eight hundred ask gary gary are we gonna make it the whole week without breaking i don't hear anything i was thinking of the magic punch yeah gary are we gonna make it gary i don't know gary hasn't said anything yet we'll check back in well here's the checkpoint this train car i don't really know what it's for or why but we're here so we're gonna take a picture cool oh we managed to find some e85 right along the route that i don't think anybody else knew about we stopped this other place and they were looking for it dude i said oh there's none there's not until past the next checkpoint well they're wrong i've had really really good luck with the government website it's like some alternativefuels.gov go on there to find e85 wherever you go it's i don't know if it's ever been wrong anyways here we go we're going to a place called old town i remember going there when i was a little kid with my parents on vacation when we went to disney and crap somewhere in orlando i don't know yeah there have been more fun days that's for sure but bad day in the race car is better than a good day working for somebody else all right second checkpoint we made it it's picture time sick week day two gonna be part of the same video as tech day in day one because not a whole lot happened yesterday and it looks like we've been rained out today even though it's not currently raining we still have to go to orlando speed world take a picture before we can start driving to gainesville um kind of hope it doesn't rain because we don't have regular road tires so that will be fun so we made it to orlando speed world last time i was here the only other time i was here was with those guys at the beginning of the video the cheat checks they rented a suburban and big steve started doing donuts out in the field in the wet grass and thank you [Music] and the tire popped off the bead from having like six guys in there and he had put the spare tire on in the middle of the field and bring it back to enterprise with the spare on there so that was pretty funny well since there's no racing here and these guys came out to see no racing why is this thing upside down now what the heck you ever seen a gopro do this before uh-uh it's pointing everything upside down it's like blue and it's jealous and it's mirrored what the hell it is yellow dude what's going on with this thing it looks pretty good yellow you're blue what the look at this look at what the gopro's doing it's yellow the truck's yellow no way the colors are backwards yes oh it's fine now what did i do you touched the screen it's okay we're gonna leave all that in there i don't know what just happened but okay so what did you just tell me so my mom went on vacation once she's got the same car and we did hedge and cam on it and when she was gone and now it doesn't idle right but she loves it because it hauls ass it's awesome so she wasn't mad she was for a little bit and then she started driving it wow so it's like she actually drives that thing every day yeah every day so i can't i'm and i'm like i'm an ape on the on the hp tuner so my tahoe runs good over there so awesome you guys want some stickers sure i'd love something for his first gen monte carlo the youtube ones awesome thanks cool i guess the converter of lockup doesn't work anymore maybe that wire is cut maybe i was hearing the switch clicking down there but i swear i was or something else it may just may not work anymore i don't know but we're back on the road we have two different directions we could go we go tom fruit or luke's route and we're going luke's route because we want to see manatees yup do you think we will see manatees doubtful i gotta say doing this whole dragon drive format in this location is ultra weird this is not uh not the typical scenery it makes it more difficult there's a lot more going on in these places instead of just some little town in the middle of kansas with three roads [Music] well so far driving in the rain has not been that bad it's kind of hard to see but that's about it we're on the way to get some more e85 now and continue to the checkpoint which is somewhere north of daytona the fuel pump is doing the the old war garble i'm almost out sound [Music] this does not feel like a race event it feels like just drive the escalade everywhere aimlessly event bathroom yeah well here is the checkpoint take a picture with the ocean where's the instruction it's actually pretty cold out here i will say i'm quite happy with how these have done in the rain so far not bad far better than the hoosiers it's those little grooves make such a big difference oh that's nice well we got out to take pictures and pee and realize that we were pretty cold but we're not anymore because we put on our ls escalade hoodies which are nice and warm they fit really good the stop sign turn right onto st john's avenue kind of the same uh same situation every time we go stop finding 85 stop finding 85 turn right onto north 19th street don't condone this but when you when you have to do something you have to do it the z85 and the unleaded 88 was missing the thingy give it to like so we just pull this one off and see if this lets you poke it i think so oh we made it to the hotel and they got this parking spot right next to the building wide open it's not even handicapped that i don't know all right day three about to leave the hotel in gainesville go get some food and head to the track it's like 39 degrees outside right now definitely not what we expected to be in florida i thought it'd be warmer but it's what it is let's go all set up in the pits here not sure i think they're running c group right now and we're b so we're gonna have to wait until the all run but pretty dirty lots of sand back here from the rainy drive looks like jamie made it back here had to change an engine did not look fun but it's good to see him back here i heard you got going under there and i want to know more about it it's just uh it's just this no it's a ls powerglide transfer case is from racing in the dirt it's a chain drive so full-time four-wheel drive but the front diff is from a chevy colorado open front diff with the stock axle disconnect on a switch so i drive around in two wheel drive because the open front dip doesn't do anything with the axle disc connected yeah do a two wheel drive burnout flip the switch all wheel drive can we see it yeah is it top secret no i don't know what you can see is that a gt500 hood vent it is it's two inches sectioned out so it fit oh so that's why i've run a wash mitt over one of those many times well this is neat and then the diff is tucked up underneath there i love the golf club prop rod [Music] that's how i used to hold the hood up on the monte carlo when i had a fiberglass but i kept a golf club in the back seat and this one without the club is light so you know perfect we got to do what we can with four wheel drive stuff you kind of see it tucked in there yeah and i had to do a belly pan this right right before we left so that's tucked all the way against it i actually redid my subframe before we left does the cv angle not get goofy well it's one of the reasons i had to change everything the oil pan i did have uh it kind of forced the diff more forward and i had angle cvs back and up yeah and that was not good so i did a different oil pan moved it all back and now it's in line and it's um up a hair so far so good like i've really wanted to do a four-wheel drive car but i don't want it to sit like a like a you know it's gotta still sit like a car if you picked a different car like a fox body or something with more height and get uh you know a cowl hood i just i have some personal restrictions i flathead mafia i won't do anything other than flathead and so i that limits what i can do because it would be a lot better when we get done with sick week i'm going to try to drop the front end down more and make and see if the axles are still happy because i have ground clearance i just don't have axle angle i guess you got youtube too oh yeah not not like yours but family man racing check them out if you want to see more of that thing yeah and then we chronicle our sick week trips our rocky mountain race week trip with uh i take uh two of our kids two of our four so my boys go with me and then my wife went on sick that's cool let's see i didn't even know that now you know now the more you know yes okay so i was just telling dylan this story about the bathroom here and he insisted that i tell it on the video because it's apparently pretty good yeah in fact you could say it's good first of all the bathrooms this track are completely utterly disgusting they have not cleaned them most of the toilets have stuff in them clogged with them all of them yeah all the ones the women's room were freaking clogged yeah i took a video well i go into the men's room it smells horrid and i open the middle stall and it's got a mountain of you know toilet paper poop more toilet paper more poop like not even in the waters the whole bowl is full of dry toilet paper and turd and it smells awful i'm like there's nowhere else to go i gotta just get it done so i go to the stall next to it and just kind of you know make it happen and then some guy walks into the stall with the turd mountain and i think i can't believe this heathen is going to pee on this stuff why wouldn't you just go to the urinal like this is why these toilets are that blowed out yeah and then i see his feet he turns around does the about face and start on the show i'm just like god this is disgusting what kind of people come to these things why would you do this so tell me do you think it got high enough to have like contact or no oh it had to it was that it was that full oh yeah so if he had a solid dump going then he's he well maybe he's hovering over the seat at this point yeah i don't you might have to stand up and get the ground clearance right it was bad don't condone bathrooms here not good anyways that concludes our yeah our lane waiting talk is concluded did you take a dump today leave a comment i forgot we had one more from ipop this morning and it wasn't even me somebody who shall remain nameless went to the bathroom and there was no toilet paper so she started blowing up my phone well my phone was in the escalade charging so that wasn't going to work how did you resolve that situation i had to call the lady at ihop and she answered the phone and she came here so you called the store and said hey i'm on your toilet and i need toilet paper yeah and i told your mom too like she was gonna do something about [Music] so there you go if you get stuck on the crapper and there's no toilet paper call the business that you're at and then it will help you and they didn't even refill the stall either no that same lady came into the women's restroom when we were about to leave and i didn't even like say anything to her i just let her go in there because i went to go to the bathroom again and there was no toilet paper in that salsil so when she went in there i just didn't say anything i let her get stuck there i like left she's stripped ryan they should just know like you just you got to change it you just have to obviously if there was no toilet paper before there still isn't poop talk bonus footage has concluded there's no more stories from today that's just today might be more tomorrow make sure you're subscribed so you see also there's racing too but mostly poop so we've been in the lanes now for a couple hours probably like three hours yeah yeah quite a while uh somebody came by and noticed the bolt that was all the way back down to the tensioner and pointed it out which was awesome because i didn't see that uh so we fixed that that's good now we are waiting because apparently somebody's flying a drone we will not we will not send anything down the racetrack until the drone comes down very simple down and now this is not debatable watch the wild kyle do some scooter tricks is he gonna do anything do some tricks kyle all right here we go i guess we're racing kyle even though i think he's gonna win [Music] [Applause] [Music] this started spinning the front tires did a little dance there is that the turn off that's weird [Music] that's weird never had the front tires do that before but they did say there's a bunch of sand out here so that probably has something to do with it where's kyle he's gone wow that was actually a lot better than i thought it was we went 10-1 at 140. with the boost controller off what's up with that i swear to god on this old combo i tried all summer to get it to run a 990 and to go 10-1 with the boost controller off this engine is more efficient than the old top end for sure 100 no question i am extremely impressed by that i'm actually pretty happy i'm i'm happy i'll say that that just turned the day around that shows me that once we put some power into this thing it is going to fly it's going to freaking fly you just wait well this video is a bit of a hodgepodge of several different days but we're gonna end that here next video we'll resume with the drive to south georgia and uh we hope you enjoyed this condensed version of whatever the heck the last three days was you know it'd be it's something it'd be more interesting if we had problems but we didn't which is good it'd also
