What happens here
After sharpening and tensioning, it's crucial to clean the chainsaw's bar and clutch area. Begin by removing the bar nuts and the clutch cover. Use the pointed end of the scrunch (or a dedicated bar groove cleaner) to scrape out sawdust and debris from the guide bar's groove. Once the groove is clean, use a portable air pump, like the Milwaukee M18 HD12.0 battery-powered air pump, to blow out any remaining sawdust and debris from the bar groove and around the clutch assembly. This prevents clogs and ensures proper oil flow to the chain and bar. Remember to wear safety glasses during this step to protect your eyes from flying debris.
Goal: Remove sawdust and debris from the bar groove and clutch area to ensure proper lubrication and function.
