Check and Adjust Chain Tension

What happens here
After sharpening, it's essential to check and adjust the chain tension. A good rule of thumb is the 'nickel test': pull the chain up from the bar and attempt to slide a nickel (or two stacked dimes, which is approximately the same thickness) underneath the chain. If it slides in snugly but is tight, the tension is correct. If it's too loose, or if you can't slide it in, adjust the tension screw on your chainsaw. To adjust the tension, slightly loosen the bar nuts, turn the tension screw until the desired tension is achieved (using the nickel test as a guide), and then re-tighten the bar nuts, lifting slightly on the bar as you tighten to ensure proper alignment and tension.
Goal: Ensure the chainsaw chain is properly tensioned for safe and efficient operation.
