Secrets Of The Tomato: Gardening Tips For Amazing Tomatoes!
What happens here
After rinsing, gently shake the strainer to remove as much excess water as possible from the seeds. Next, take a piece of a paper bag (which has been previously cut and labeled with the tomato variety, e.g., 'Golden Amber'). Flip the strainer over the paper bag and gently tap it to release the clean seeds onto the paper. Spread the seeds out evenly with your fingers to ensure good airflow. Some seeds may appear black; these are likely non-viable and can be discarded later. Allow the seeds to air dry completely on the countertop for about a day to a day and a half. The paper bag absorbs moisture and the seeds will adhere to it as they dry.
Goal: Thoroughly dry the clean tomato seeds to prevent mold and prepare for storage
