What happens here
This video showcases the process of snow plowing a residential parking lot with a pickup truck equipped with front and rear plows. The project highlights the challenges of clearing heavily compacted snow, maneuvering in tight spaces, and troubleshooting a recurring electrical issue with the front snow plow's hydraulic control system. The presenter demonstrates various techniques and addresses equipment malfunctions during the job.

(9,087 characters)all right good morning good evening good afternoon whatever time you guys may be watching this today guys we're going to be heading out to what is my oldest account i think i've been plowing this without fail for over 28 years and there's some unique things about this account that i don't have to do on any one of my other accounts working a little better now is if you guys notice just how rough that snow is what happens with this one is i come in during the evening and i open up all of the drive lanes on this account there's three separate parking lots interconnected by a bunch of drive lanes and i get all those cleared but then the property manager gives the tenants 48 hours to clear out the parking lot so i can come in and plow but that also means they've got 48 hours to compact it down which makes my life a little bit more of a challenge no not that i know i mean it didn't sound no crack or not she scraped she skates better scrapes better going fast backwards when i can put some down pressure on it i mean your tires weren't even touching once you must have been pushing with your front end you got four wheel drive on right yeah i don't like using this much down pressure going fast afterwards i don't mind going forward but going bass backwards for what the reason you just seen if you hit something there's very little forgiveness so you've just got to be that much more careful [Music] oh this is one of those videos that's best viewed in 4k and on a big screen with the wings open you don't scrape nearly as good no because the center don't hit right i don't like putting all that pressure so i went to target the other day and found four new flavors of spin drift so we're actually gonna try a brand new one i saved this one for you guys right now it's the pineapple i couldn't believe it there was only one case of this so i've never tried it yet it tastes just like somebody took a bunch of pineapple and squeezed it right into a water i like it you guys are probably wondering what's up with the cowboy hat stan here's the deal i don't normally wear this but i figure i earned it i was wearing it in a one of the real seedy bars in vegas and some guy tried to mug me and take it from me and well you can see i'm wearing it and he's not so i figured i earned her i'll wear it once in a while [Music] so these lights are pretty small and really tough to maneuver in so turning around is a challenge in these things and my snow dog is still giving me problems all right guys i think we're going to call this video snow plowing a park small parking lot and a big truck let's just get going so a lot of times what i'll do is i'll pull up forward and then instead of turning around to plow the other side i just use the push plow but in today's case my front plow was not not working the way it's supposed to work so instead of being able to to push plow that way plow this way plow that way plow this way i gotta plow one way turn and then continue to plow not the end of the world but when you got two plows you'd like to be able to use them a little bit better than what you'll see in this video boy sometimes you just don't get traction if you use too much downforce you will lift that back end of your truck right off the ground and you see that stuff scraping up right there that's not grass that's actually leaves all right so let me show you guys what we're dealing with when i say we got a crippled truck uh this snow dog how long has it been doing this frankie since last year right yep okay so and last year we had to zip tie the connection together we'll see if it'll go down see hit the power button it'll work but i'm not hitting the power button i'm not gonna hit nothing we'll see if it'll go up nothing then you hit the button power button don't help come on come on up go up all right come on you can go up wait okay there we got it it just went up but it's gonna it's not gonna work on the next run so we'll do one more run we'll wiggle the connection and this connection on this has been dead already frankie which ones did we work on last year frankie was it these two yeah see look it it's just even that much right there right see they got a locking thing on them right you're supposed to pull down on them and then oh okay no that's where they when it's that's when that's the cap yeah so last year we zip tied them together go just try and see if it works better i'll just hold it once right there okay that's the most response we've had it works better that way right yeah yeah yeah that's what it is this time ziploc we've been zip talking like we did last year okay that's about as clean as we're gonna get it without salt [Music] and they don't pay for salt so that wasn't it the reason we know that wasn't it is because it it worked a little bit better and you would think oh there's a poor connection and a lot of guys have said hey check your grounds we've checked the grounds we checked that connection we ended up wire tying that connection together that wasn't it it wasn't a loose ground we brought it in three times in the last year and this last time they gave they said they thought it was the controller i haven't picked the truck up yet i'm gonna see how well it works i mean we'll have to wait till the next snowstorm to see how well she responds [Music] so you'll notice most of the lots out here are empty we got one straggler and everybody's parking in the street only problem is right where they're parking right in front of me is my push pile so that's technically where i'm supposed to push it so what happens out here frankie is the manager gives them 48 hours to get all their cars out of the lot so i come in at midnight or wherever i drive i open up the drive lanes so that these guys can get in and out for 48 hours but in the meantime they're packing the snow down right yeah that makes it tough for 48 huh oh god it gets so rough in here it gets so rough so i'll end up re-plowing this lot over and over and over again just to scrape the hard pack down as much as possible that's what i do like about the snow dogs is they scrape real well when it's working she scrapes pretty aggressively so i don't really consider this to be a normal snow plow so i wouldn't go over the same passes three four five times in a row but this is all jam-packed onto the lot so i'm doing the best i can to scrape it up to get it as clean as i can and that's kind of protocol out on this site it's just the way they operate you know they've got 48 hours to get out but you always have that one straggler and as much as i'd like to plow them in that's i i never do i always back drag as clean as i possibly can around them and that's maybe also why i've been plowing this same lot for 28 years and hopefully we'll keep plowing it until i'm done plowing it's one of those lots i just it's been it's a personal baby of mine one of my very first accounts and i just i have a lot of pride in this lot i just i just do this bike has been here frankie this bike has been here for like three or four years it must be the best bike chain ever because it hasn't moved so we actually plow in partnership you're asking different company owns it so all of these are actually connected but our snowplowing contract ends with this building here another company plows that building and that building and then we actually share plowing the road so i met the other snowplow company out here a couple times so we plow this entire circle from there all the way down and around but they haven't been plowing it this year yet so i want to make sure it's the same company that you know we usually i plow at one time they plot one time i plow it they plow it because it's just kind of one of those things that makes both of our lives easier but it's kind of nice when all of the cars move out of the lots like that except for that one strangler right there but i come in in the evening and plow this road right away before they move out here man that's just bad again it's just bad again but that's our video for today we got her all cleaned up frankie and i are gonna go back and start working on this snow dog see if we can't get it ready because we've got three to eight inches of snow coming tomorrow and that's a pretty cool skid loader right there all right guys god bless go get em and hopefully we'll see you on another one i want to say thank you to all of you guys that are helping the algorithm i notice what you're doing much appreciated and if you can hit that like button that goes a long way and hopefully we will see you on another one we got some cool stuff coming up we tested a manito skid loader you guys wanted to see that i made arrangements to do it and we can't find the footage not joking not joking we spent sam and i spent an entire day filming this thing and we had so much cool stuff and between i don't know where it went so we're doing it in search of so hopefully we find that and bring that to you because otherwise we got to go start all over again say love eat god bless go get em you guys we'll catch you on another one
