Sawmilling Knotty pine reveals Surprise inside!
What happens here
Once the lumber is cut into 2x4s and 1x1s, the operator removes them from the sawmill. He then carefully stacks the 2x4s on sturdy sawhorses, placing the 1x1s (referred to as 'stickers') horizontally between each layer of 2x4s. This creates air gaps that allow for proper airflow, facilitating even drying and preventing warping or mold growth. The stacked lumber will be used for various building projects, including a dry kiln and a chicken coop.
Goal: Prepare the milled lumber for proper air drying.
