Sawmilling Knotty pine reveals Surprise inside!

What happens here

After removing the first slab, the operator uses the sawmill's hydraulic log turner to rotate the log 90 degrees. He then makes another cut to create a second flat surface, repeating this process until all four sides of the log are flattened, forming a 'cant'. From this cant, he continues to make passes, cutting true 2x4s (approximately 2 inches by 4 inches) and 1x1s (approximately 1 inch by 1 inch) from the pine wood.

Goal: Transform the cant into dimensioned lumber.
