Retaining Wall Installation
What happens here
A drainage tube, also known as a drain pipe, is installed at the very base of the retaining wall, on top of the base stone layer and against the wall blocks. This tube is designed to collect any water that infiltrates the backfill and direct it away from the wall. After the drainage tube is in place, more drainage stone is added around and over the tube, up to the level of the first course of blocks. This stone is then compacted to ensure proper water flow and structural integrity.
Goal: Establish an effective drainage system to prevent water buildup behind the wall.
