Repairing and Prepping Stucco for Airless Spraying

What happens here

The presenter is on a ladder, using a putty knife to scrape loose paint and deteriorated stucco from the wall. He clarifies that while some areas might look like loose stucco, it's actually just peeling paint from multiple previous coats. He emphasizes that the goal is to remove all loose material to ensure a good bond for the new paint. He works carefully, explaining that for areas where bare stucco is exposed, a primer will be applied before the final elastomeric paint coat. He plans to roll the elastomeric paint for better adhesion and coverage on the textured surface.

Goal: Remove all loose and peeling paint/stucco to create a stable surface for repairs and new paint.

we're gonna be doing some functional caulking and then some also some aesthetic caulking we've got some up high stuff some peeling paint and some stucco that we got to scrape so i got some putty knives a whole set of putty knives i'm going to be doing some scraping with and some patching with just going to move right along i've got a patch right here this is just a pretty much stucco patch that i'm going to be patching with just got it at my local ace hardware store but i've got some stuff up high water's getting behind the previous coatings this building is stucco but it's been painted multiple times so up high there's some peeling paint and then a little bit of damage stuck though wherever we end up with bear stucco we're going to be priming over that stucco and then we're going to be rolling over it with an elastomeric paint prior to painting it our final top coat is actually going to be flat probably a flat paint a high-end paint like a lifetime warranty coat i'm coating i'm not sure which one yet maybe duration um resilience or um there's some other ppg has one and miller paint has one we're gonna be looking at what option we're gonna use but since it's been painted multiple times before i'm just going to be going right over the top of that i want it to look like stucco so i'm going to be doing it
