Repairing a GROHE kitchen faucet leaking at handle (MAY JUST BE A LOOSE PART)

What happens here

Slowly turn the hot and cold water supply valves back to the 'on' position under the sink. With the faucet handle still removed, use the exposed stem (where the handle attaches) to operate the faucet and test for leaks. Move the stem to check both hot and cold water flow, and activate the sprayer if applicable. Observe carefully around the faucet's base and under the sink for any signs of dripping or new leaks.

Goal: Verify the leak is resolved and the faucet functions correctly.
