Repair Stucco Crack Cheap & Easy

this Krissy Idaho painter here on paint live TV today I got a cool tip for you it is how to repair or fill cracks and stucco they got hopefully you can see it in the video right here we got some white stucco we've already sprayed this stucco and now we're seeing cracks we didn't see before and we've got a special way that we fill these cracks so you won't see them after the SEC has been sprayed and back rolled again then we typically use a masonry elastomeric type caulking and the masonry caulking is kind of sanded and it has sand in it so it matches the stucco really really well so here's some of the the caulking right here it's kind of a thin product but very flexible won't crack and it bonds to both sides of the crack very well and once again has kind of the texture of stucco I like to use a sponge to help this process of getting it to blend in typically like a sponge kind of a beat up one with a brillo pad on the end because it helps the dabbing process in getting it to blend in I'm gonna take and cut my tube of caulking at a 45 degree angle I like to have a nice 45 degree angle on the tip and I want that 45 degree angle to be flat on my back and I'm like stuff Kyle I'm gonna begin just pumping some caulking into that crack I'm just gonna work along that track and I typically work about a foot at a time one one foot the two feet if you go too far the stucco will start to absorb the water out of the caulking the caulking will start to drive really fast then I just take my sponge it's wet I keep a bucket of water right here cuz I keep that sponge wet and cleaned out all the time now I'm just gonna take and dab that in sometimes I'll just rub my finger over it to push it into that crack a little bit better now I'm gonna just begin dabbing it with the beat-up brillo part right here and that's gonna push that in around that stucco get it to blend in really really well that way you won't have a smooth spot where that crack is because if you don't take the time spend the time to do it really well after you've sprayed the stucco where you filled it the smooth spot will show up just as bad or worse than the crack itself but yes the crack will be filled won't get water in it won't continue to crack and get worse but it'll look very unsightly so take time do it right use the proper caulking using an elastomeric masonry caulking one that's gonna bond really really well and one that's typically sanded it's got some type of texture through the coffee so once again got my 45-degree angle on my caulking tube flat on the stucco so I'm just gonna work right along this crack just taking my time just slowly pumping just a little bead of caulking in there you could take and just hit it with my finger to help push it down into that crack now I'm gonna start dabbing it with my sponge now I like to sponge the beo fairly wet so it helps you knock that down really well make sure you're right over the top of the crack just like that takes a little bit of time and effort but it's gonna look awesome when it's done hope you two enjoy this video hopefully is going to help your stuff out look a lot better we do have videos on how to paint stucco the back rolling the spraying process in what we typically use check it out on paint life TV hope you've enjoyed this video if you have please consider to given us some thumbs up please consider subscribing to our Channel and you can also find our Facebook and Twitter and Instagram [Music] [Applause]
