What happens here

This project guides you through repainting a black fireplace with a bronze metallic high-heat spray paint. It involves thorough masking, cleaning the surface with denatured alcohol, applying multiple light coats of specialized paint using proper spray techniques, and sanding any imperfections that may arise during the process. The goal is to achieve a rich, elegant, and durable finish suitable for high-temperature applications.

this Chris had a hole painter in this video we've got a black fireplace we're gonna make this thing look really cool with a bronze metallic paint I've got spray cans still it's called stove right and this is a high heat paint that's designed to go on stoves and fireplaces so stay tuned we're gonna show you the process it's very simple using spray cans gonna mash this thing off clean it with denatured alcohol and then spray them I got three fireplaces in this house very simple easy to do this color is called rich brown and it's metallic you're gonna see how you can make a fireplace look more rich and elegant just a simple process a do-it-yourselfer can do you enjoyed this video please consider giving me a thumbs up please consider subscribing to our channel you can also find us on Instagram Idaho painters and Facebook for more tips and tricks you can also find us on our web page at the Idaho painter Tom there we go it's gonna use a hand master need to have a respirator when they're spraying this stuff but just simple easy to do the ones out here a little bit more complicated they got on some glass enclosures or screens that we got to take off and nassos too but we're gonna show you all three of these fireplaces so here we go the first step of the process after masking it right here I got it all masked off just going to clean it with some denatured alcohol that way there's any contaminants on there that will cause it to fisheye or not coat properly then you'll get that off so just give yourself a clean rag you need to dollop hall and just wipe it down [Music] so I want to begin spraying it I got a stove right and this is a high heat paint it's really cool because it's a metallic kind of bronze color it's um it's called rich brown and rubber spray just go do it multiple coats will take several coats to spray up and just try to use good trigger to control on your spray can and don't go too fast cuz you'll get runs if you get a run don't panic you just want to get it and wipe it out or you let it dry and sand it out but it's probably better to wipe it out before it dries but just put on light coats that way you don't get any runs so here we go kind of use some of the same spray techniques where you know what you'll start and stops in the middle of sections so trying to do it and logical a logical pattern like from top to bottom or into end don't try to philip type to or have any start and stops at nil so I don't want to spray here and come back this way because you'll have these lap marks too and as you come back the other way so we go in the end that top the bottom [Music] they'll give you a couple more tips when spraying kind of like an airless sprayer try not to release the trigger or the button on your spray pan in the middle because you're getting Spence and I like to just hold my finger down the whole time to just continue to spray so I don't have started stops or spits anywhere so you'll see me just holding that trigger down and just have a nice steady flow trying to watch it go on to the right place try to keep a wet edge so you don't have any like dry black marks or dry feathering also have enough of the product cuz you don't want to run out of the product right in the middle of a project and and then have you know a spot where you come back and do it after this is all right here cuz you have to spray the whole thing at once if you just trying to spray one little section you're going to see start and stop marks or on dry feathering where you just started spraying so here we go it's got a section right here that's actually peeling lifting off so I'm gonna get some a sanding sponge and second I've got one coat on here I'll say on that and that's going to take multiple coats to get that recover we'll start working with that [Music] so I'm just saying do the salmon here with just a sanding sponge the medium sanding sponge they just want to be able to feel those edges nice and smooth in feathered out [Music] said a couple we're gonna black spots on here that I just got to build up the metallic flakes flakes on because the rest of the thing is completely coated yet those are still showing through so I'm just complete just coming back and keep the spot doing it and building it up over those black spots and then I'll go back over and do the whole thing with a proper pattern [Music] so if you ever used an airless sprayer before spraying with these cape spray heads is kind of a lot of the same principles you know try not to start and stop in the middle because in cases Sprague and spits try to find logical start and stops go from top to bottom or into end this is gonna be my second coat on this fireplace it's gonna take I've been coding all three of them three coats is enough to cover this fireplace it was flat black before and three coats is covering good enough just watch just spray it keeping a nice steady even smooth stroke as you're spraying another simple little safety tip make sure that the fireplace the gas is turned off to the fireplace and it is off make sure you continually seek your hands up to [Music] so there you have it our fireplace is all done and it looks pretty cool customers super happy done working you find the product this stuff you can find in a couple different places we picked it up off of Amazon and down in the description for the video below
