What happens here

Begin laying the irregular stone pieces into the prepared curved channel. These pieces often come as broken slate, tile fragments, or specially cut irregular stones. Start from one end of the curve and work your way along, fitting the pieces together like a jigsaw puzzle. Aim for a tight fit between pieces and a relatively consistent surface height. Adjust the stones as needed to create a visually appealing pattern, using a rubber mallet for gentle seating. It's common to use a thin layer of bedding sand or a specialized bedding mortar beneath the stones to help level them and secure their position before grouting.

Goal: Create the mosaic pattern within the curved channel
