What happens here

After the curved channel has been cut, carefully remove all the cut-out paver pieces from the groove. Use a small pry bar or a trowel if needed to lift stubborn pieces. Once the pavers are removed, inspect the base material (typically gravel or sand) within the channel. Ensure it is level and free of loose debris. If necessary, add or remove paver base material and compact it lightly with a hand tamper to create a stable and even bed for the mosaic stones.

Goal: Create a clean, stable base for the mosaic stones

Tools and materials

  • Hand Tamper — Compacting the base material for stability
  • Small Pry Bar — Aiding in the removal of stubborn paver pieces
  • Trowel — Scooping out loose debris and leveling the base material
  • Paver Base — Leveling and providing a stable foundation for the mosaic if the existing base is insufficient
