Rear mount verses Front Mount Rototiller ! You Decide!

hey folks this is Josh Stein orig former welcome to the farm blog today today we're going to be telling in our upper garden we call this our corn garden this is where we grew corn last year and where we're going to grow corn again this year we like Silver Queen corn here in North Carolina so that's what we're going to grow today we're going to take you through two different types of tillers and we're going to compare the two types of tillers we have the ventrac tiller which is a front-mounted four foot machine and we have that everything attachments er 62 heavy-duty tiller so come along today on the farm vlog as we compare these two tillers I know both of them work like rock stars but I want to get some opinions from you and I want to learn myself which one do I like the best the front mount or the rear mount what are the differences today we're going to show you on the farm right [Music] first things first here let's talk about the two tractors we're going to be using this is a Massey Ferguson 240 I believe it's a 1984 86 model it has about 850 900 hours something like that it is 41 PTO horsepower and we're going to be pushing to everything attachments tiller let's go back here and we'll talk a little bit about the tiller now this is a two-wheel-drive tractor okay it's been completely restored even though it has very low hours it's been repainted it's a beautiful tractor and it's a great little workhorse let's go back here and I'll show you the tiller the tiller we're going to be using on the back of the 240 tractor is that everything attachments er6 t2 tiller it's from everything attachments it's from Newton North Carolina and we know that it's a quality piece of machinery so there's no doubt about that we tilled our garden last year with that and we didn't have the ventrac so we're gonna compare the two I'm not really sure who's going to do the best or if they're gonna both do really well and we'll just be able to experience it a little bit differently with a front-mounted tiller versus a rear-mounted tiller now the tines on this thing are very very tough this has a five year gearbox warrantee I do believe so over here on the side you have your gearbox and you have an adjustment right here for the depth of how deep you want to tell we're pretty much set in the deepest setting right here on this tiller we're ready to rock and roll so if you've ever used a roto tiller with any other type of tractor what happens when you unhook a rotor tiller is it like stuff well it likes to roll over so one of the cool features of the everything attachments tiller is if I can get the pin out is that it has a kickstand on it in other words you pull that pin and the kickstand drops and then you don't run into the same issue that you have with most tillers where they just flop over and you have to pick them up and wrestle with them to get them hooked up to the tractor very cool tool very nice very reliable and I can't wait to use it let's go check out the ventrac tractor number two in this comparison I don't want to call it a competition because it's not a competition it's a comparison I'm gonna let you guys decide what you think is best for you so we have both tillers here on the farm I love that everything attachments tiller and I absolutely love the ventrac killer we hooked it up yesterday and tried it out for the first time if you haven't seen that video there'll be a link right up here but we had all eight tires on the ventrac at that time so we took the two tires off so that the footprint of the tiller would match the footprint of the tractor this is 24 horsepower this is 41 horsepower you can expect this one to have more ripping and digging power you can expect this one to have a little bit more precision we're gonna have some fun and we're gonna get busy now Massey Ferguson 240 contact yeah baby [Music] as we already knew this is a super-duper high quality piece of machinery the only thing the only letdown on this is the fact that I have to throw it in low reverse and back up really really slowly and drop it in and pull the tiller through the land it's going to be a little bit different with the other tiller because we're gonna have to run backwards so a front-mounted tiller will set the tiller in and will pull backwards I'm absolutely impressed with this everything attachments ER 62 it is a rockstar of machines I want to thank Travis and Ted over at everything attachments for letting me use this thing this has been super duper cool great machine now let's get on the ventrac and we'll try it out would get you some footage of that and then we'll tell you what we think about it I love this tractor I really love this old farm tractor it is a great tractor this is a tough machine we hit some big rocks and it didn't even hiccup so let's get on the ventrac and see how it stands up to the competition [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] well guys what can I say I love the little bin tracked tractor it does a super awesome job I also love my 240 I've got a five-foot tiller versus a four foot tiller rototilling both of them look exactly the same I'm gonna say that the everything attachments tiller is just a beast of a tiller behind that tractor it's absolutely perfect and this is proprietary it's meant for this machine it works absolutely perfect - the only thing that I can say about the ventrac versus the 240 tractor with the everything attachments on it is when I get done here I'm gonna drop that tiller and I'm gonna hook up to a 72 inch mowing deck and I'm gonna go mow my yard that's cool that's really cool so guys I hope you enjoyed this little journey with the tractors today I hope you enjoyed the comparison I want you to tell me what you
