once again this is my disclaimer to all you farm guys to all you guys that think you know everything about tractors please leave comments leave constructive criticism leave whatever you want but if you leave negative sassy remarks they'll just be deleted so you might as well stop wasting your time every time I post a tractor video I get some sassy know-it-all farm boy that has to tell me how much he knows please share what you have share your knowledge don't be an idiot and throw insults I'll just delete your comment hey guys it's josh tony rich farmer welcome to the farm blog today lots of stuff going on today but the main reason the main purpose for this vlog is to show you a baling hay okay so we're gonna go ahead we've already cut our hay on the other side hopefully you caught that video and we're gonna go ahead and break it up with a V right and we're gonna go ahead and bail it this is my first time using this B rake and my first time using this baler so a little bit of a learning curve come on over with me we're on the other side of the farm here where I already have the hay on the ground I'll show you the hay and we'll show you the B rake and how it all works and get it bailed up should be pretty fun all right whoo [Music] Nouveau so guys as you can see all around me this is a freshly mown hay it smells awesome that that hay smell it's pretty cool it's gonna smell really good when I rake it up I can't wait but you can see all the work that I have in behind me the timber crew has moved they were over on the other side here and they moved to start cutting all these trees that are in behind me so we can open this field up the ass flow and guys are down there cutting the bulldozers are over there working in the excavator they're gonna put in a new road down here for me later on today or tomorrow so that I can access our little camping area and I'll show you that in a future vlog just so so much going on and plus I've got to work I got a job I got to go to work tomorrow so hopefully I can trust all these guys to do everything they're supposed to do and I'll come in on Saturday and pick up the pieces where I meant start putting down more grass seed this is how long it takes me to get over to the other side of the farm by the way it takes about six seven minutes to get over here if you guys watch the blog where I was putting grass seed down the other day that's that dirt area is what this looked like two years ago so in two years we've turned a bare dirt mess which this is what the brush looked like in the field before hand we turned that into that and we're mowing hay and we're gonna make some money on it two years to your process right there pretty proud of it want to take the time now to thank you guys for watching the vlogs and watching the videos hopefully you're going to learn a little bit of something today click that like button if you can it helps me out with my channel helps me out with my videos getting exposure and stuff and click that little bell down there if you can the little bell will notify you when I post a new video so here's another area that we've got a stump they've been over here cutting just a huge amount of stuff going on here guys so if you think you're overwhelmed taking the kids to soccer practice I'm glad I don't have kids yet I guess that's all I have to say it's overwhelming this is very overwhelming here's a John Deere tractor and here's our V ring we have a problem with the hydraulics on the B rake and I had to replace some hydraulic lines so we're gonna get to that first not only is life hard on the farm anywhere you walk in tall grass you get eight alive by little critters little bugs so life is hard on the farm and we still have to spray this poison on our legs to keep them off it sucks they will attack your crotch bad real bad just ask my wife she got him bad the other day chiggers recently we bought this V rake right here and I've never used a V right before so it's gonna be an interesting learning curve should be pretty easy I don't see any problem with it I had my uncle over here and he uses a V right all the time it gave me some pointers we had some hydraulic hose issues and you can see I've got the hydraulic hose that's taken apart and over here I've got some new hoses we're gonna go ahead and get these hoses all hooked up and ran so we can hook it to the tractor shouldn't take but just a few minutes and we'll get busy raking so what we've got to do is took these female ends up to these male ends right here and what happened was the hoses on this we're just a little bit too short to work with my tractor so I had to replace them they were good but they're just a little bit too short I'll go ahead and tighten everything down nice and snug bolt it up good and then we'll hook it to the tractor don't ever set your tools down in the dirt never ever ever want to lose a tool set it in the dirt and see what happens I know this isn't the right tool for the job but it's what I have on the tractor so guys while we have our tools out we're going to go ahead and check all the fittings on here make sure everything's nice and tight before we take off and get running with it I'm gonna back the tractor up here and hook everything up it's 15 minute setback guys had to run back and get the keys to the tractor I want to show you this real quick guys this is a quick connect my garlic pose fitting and it basically slides into these quick connects just like this no now the hydraulic hose has a little bit of air in it it's going to bleed through automatically through the system southern new hoses that we have built are a little bit longer as you can tell they shouldn't be reaching all the way out here I always keep some zip ties on your tractor so that you can take this stuff that gets in the way and tuck it back somewhere so let's simplify this for you a little bit now you can see the V rake is on the ground okay the way this works is it takes two rows already cut hey squeezes them together this is what it looks like after I've raked it and this is what it looks like before and I'll give you some footage of the rate going over it and I'll get up on the tractor and give you a little bit of footage of that if this kind of stuff bores you then you shouldn't be on a farm vlog it's kind of interesting to me and it's really fun to do so it's kind of neat to see it just rake up a huge pile I mean this pile is knee-deep and it was only that beat before it fluffs it up lets more air get into it lets it dry and we'll come back and Bale it let's watch the rake for a minute and then I'll go get the baler and we'll start rolling Hey whoo I've been around this fungus chasing chickens at around long [Music] I've been around as far as chasing chickens around here [Music] guys this looks so pretty I'm so disappointed I can't throw the drone up and get a view of this from the air gonna have to wait till spring but so pretty all right we've got the whole field rake check it out I'll show you big beautiful wind rose the Sun is starting to set here on the beautiful mountains of North Carolina and now we're gonna start bailing so I've already made one round to make sure everything works good before I take you along with me I want to show you how the baler works okay basically the baler has a spinning part to the bottom with little grabbers and those grabbers grab all the hay that's laying on the ground off the ground they rake it up and they put it through a belt system and then the belt system rolls it tight tight tight tight and then there's a string a thing that holds string and it goes all across the belt and comes all the way back and then it cuts it so your bail comes out tight right wrapped in string and ready to go and you can load it on the truck or the trailer or take it to your cows or whatever you want to do the way this guy works these huge belts roll in here and if you've never seen a hay baler you don't know how this works it's kind of cool it's very neat to see how things work I'm curious and thought you might be curious so I'm gonna show you if you don't want to see it fast-forward it to the end did it come on down to the Stoney Ridge but I'm gonna show you okay so all these all these parts here we have two sets of hydraulics one set of hydraulics opens the back of the baler and I'll show you that in a minute would be cool when the bale spits out it's pretty neat the other one works the tire and right here is the tying apparatus and basically this sleeve has a string in it and the string goes all the way across the bail and I can see it going across the bail from this little meter right here I can see how much hay I have from this meter once it gets close to that red mark I need to go ahead and tie it and open it up and let that bail out I also have another meter up here see that it tells me if my bail is getting heavier on one side than the other so you don't have a lot sided Bale underneath here this is a quick crash course guy so underneath here is a rolling apparatus with little grabbers that just scoops up the hay pulls it into the machine it rolls it up it's a pretty neat thing how it all works we're going to take it we're going to show you we're gonna watch some hay drop out and enjoy this beautiful North Carolina sunset I've been out here all day guys just working my butt off lots of stuff going on as usual here on the farm hopefully after this I can get a bit of time to do some honey duties in the inside of the house I've got some new tools and stuff like that that I want to review and show you things that I believe in things that I like and things that if they're bullcrap I'm gonna tell you about it let's get on this thing and bail up the hay [Music] so boys and girls it's just that simple nice beautiful tight roll of hay right here looks great I'm very happy with the hay baler I just bought that hay baler it's a little one-sided right here I've got to work on my technique a little bit this is new to me it's probably new to you if you're watching the farm blog guys I appreciate you click that like button I hope you've enjoyed the journey I took you on today we raked the hay a few days ago we mowed the hay today I showed you raking the hay and baling the hay so I've got to go and get busy and finish all this up and I'm not gonna beat the Sun down I'm just not gonna beat it but whatever it's a beautiful day we'll get on it as soon as we can hopefully we won't get any rain and we'll start making some beautiful hey I'm selling it here on the farm thanks for watching the vlog today guys I appreciate you come on back and see me click that like button and click that little bell down there so you can get some notifications when I send a new video all right hey made on a stone Erie [Music]
