Raising Chickens Series: Preparing the brooder..picking up the baby birds!

What happens here

Contact the hatchery or post office to arrange pickup of the chicks. Upon arrival, listen for their chirps and visually inspect the shipping box for any signs of distress. Carefully transport the box of chicks back to your prepared brooder setup. Gently open the chick box and carefully place each chick into the brooder. Ensure all chicks are placed near the heat lamp, the feeders (which should contain organic chick starter feed), and the waterer. Optionally, provide water mixed with a vital pack and GroGel Plus immediately to help rehydrate them after travel. Observe the chicks as they acclimate, ensuring they find food and water quickly.

Goal: Collect the newly arrived chicks from the hatchery or post office and gently transfer them into the prepared brooder structure.
