What happens here

This project details the process of repairing and reinforcing a broken metal mailbox post. It involves cutting off the damaged section, thoroughly cleaning the metal surfaces of rust and paint, welding a new 1/4-inch steel reinforcement plate to the base, and then welding the main post back onto this strengthened base. The final steps include cleaning, painting, and preparing the assembly for reinstallation to ensure durability against environmental factors.

The post for my mailbox broke. Let's fix it. I'm going to go ahead and cut all this stuff off right here, get it all ground up, get all the rust cleaned off, get all this paint cleaned off here so I can get ready to weld, and then we'll probably take a 1/4-in plate, weld it on the bottom, give it a lot of stiffness, and then re-weld all this. Let's get after it. Man, I'm not sponsored by Arc Captain, but I absolutely love the machine. Uh I don't even It It doesn't take much to throw down halfway decent welds. I'm going to go ahead and clean this up. We'll weld the bottom post on. We'll get it painted up and throw it back on the post. Grinders and paint make you the welder you ain't. You know what I'm saying? I'm not the best at welding. I can lay down a bead or two, but it is what it is. Hopefully this holds up to a snow plow next coming winter, and uh I'm going to paint it up, slip it on the post, drill the holes, but for now, I'm out of here. Peace.
