QUICK and EASY Pickup Truck Battery Replacement!

What happens here

With both battery cables disconnected, locate the battery hold-down mechanism. In this video, it's a bolt securing a clamp to the battery tray. Use a small ratchet with an appropriate socket, or an adjustable wrench, to loosen and remove the nut and bolt holding the battery in place. In this case, a small adjustable wrench was initially attempted, but a Craftsman 1/4" drive ratchet with a socket was later used for better access and leverage. Remove the hold-down bolt and any associated parts from the battery tray.

Goal: Remove the battery hold-down bolt and clamp to free the battery from its tray, using a suitable wrench or ratchet.

to set that aside super simple now we gotta get down in here see if i can zoom in a little bit here and that right there is what's gonna hold the battery in now you could get a socket set and some other stuff for this but i said i've just found this little wrench i've had i changed the battery on my wife's car a while back and all i used was this little bad boy she's like you know what i'm just gonna go ahead with this it's just good i just wanted to show you like it's a good little small wrench for tight spaces and honestly it doesn't get any tighter than this right here okay oh crap okay all right so we can continue to fiddle with this bad boy all day long deep down in this hole but we're not going to do that we're actually just going to go ahead i ran the garage i grabbed this little small socket wrench with a 5 16 socket on it and we're going to get down in here and so much easier than having to deal with that i wish i had a super long extension that way i actually didn't even have to be down in here but i do not so yeah that was so much easier and we're gonna when we put this back we're actually gonna go ahead and we're gonna put some pb blaster or something on that bad boy just clean this up a little bit yeah i'll just knock a little bit of that rust off there and make it look pretty but that's good to rock and roll now you just remove this wedge right here that was down in there that holds the battery in place
