Quick and Easy Outdoor Steps

What happens here

Using a shovel, excavate the base area for the first step and initial landing. Break up any old, hard-packed dirt and create a clean, flat surface for the first step frame. Once the area is cleared, unroll and lay down the black weed barrier fabric along the entire path where the steps will be constructed. Secure the weed barrier to the ground with landscape staples. Leave the weed barrier partially rolled up or unstapled at the sides to allow for adjustments as you install the step frames.

Goal: Create a flat base for the first step and prevent weed growth
