Prepping for the First Blizzard of the Year & we break down in the middle of the Storm 4 k video

What happens here

This step details the installation of heated windshield wiper blades onto a plow truck, providing enhanced visibility during snowy conditions. First, run the wiring for the wiper blades from the windshield base through the firewall into the truck's cabin. Connect the power wires (positive and negative) to the vehicle's electrical system, typically directly to the battery for the positive, and to a ground point for the negative. Inside the cabin, identify a suitable location to install a toggle switch. Wire the switch into the power line, allowing for independent control of the heated function. This setup lets you turn the heat on or off separately from the regular wiper function. The installer mentions that this is a moderately difficult task due to the need for disassembling parts of the dashboard and correctly splicing into the vehicle's electrical system.

Goal: Install heated windshield wiper blades for improved visibility during snow.

Tools and materials

so one of the new things we're gonna try out this year is heated windshield wipers I can't tell you how many times I've gotten ice snow you're out plowing in the middle of a blizzard and you got to jump out of your truck and bang your windshield wipers I heard from more than a couple of you guys try heated windshield wipers and I'm going to do it because you guys told me to and I'm gonna run it through this first snowstorm and give you some feedback here in just a moment I'll let you know if you guys were right wrong or in between all right got all the wires ran through the firewall there go inside and pull them out so they take about an hour to install and in a difficulty level from one to ten they're probably about a three or a four you do have to pull apart your dash depending on what truck you have for dodge Chevy GMC they're not all gonna be the same and you do need to wire in and cut in a toggle switch so that you can turn them on and off separately from the heated part separately from the actual windshield wiper working again not very difficult but just some of those things you want to take into consideration before you go and stick them on they don't just snap in place like a regular windshield wiper it takes a little bit more work the first time to do it when you want to replace them you don't have to go through all the wiring you can then just snap them apart and put a new set in alright so we got everything all hooked up there's juice running a cigarette lighter and all that so all we have to do just hook the grounds up out here probably just gonna ground it right to the battery yeah I'm just gonna crown those right on the battery there right there and tuck the rest of wires in all right heated wiper blades that are all set up we got our switch it's kind of dark right down here and all of our wires are tucked in ran so there we go interesting to see how it does how they do in the Minnesota winter here don't
