Premium Driveway Gate Installation, Build it once, build it nice and do it Right!

What happens here

After the trenches are dug and conduit is laid, the wiring is pulled through. This involves pulling the power lines from the solar panel to the primary operator, communication wires between the two operators, and wiring for the safety sensors. A critical aspect of this step is laying induction loops (metal detector loops) in specific areas of the driveway. These loops are installed beneath the ground to detect vehicles (ATVs, UTVs, cars, trucks, or tractors) as they approach or exit the gate. When a vehicle is detected, the gate automatically opens, enhancing convenience and preventing accidental closure. A separate induction loop is also installed to prevent the gate from closing if a vehicle is blocking the entrance. All these wires are carefully connected to the respective terminals within the operator control boxes, following detailed wiring diagrams.

Goal: Connect all electrical and communication components of the gate system.

Tools and materials

  • Communication Cable — Enabling communication between gate operators
  • Electrical Wire — Powering components and transmitting signals
  • Induction Loop Wire — Creating magnetic detection fields for vehicles
  • Screwdriver Set — Connecting wires to terminals
  • Wire Strippers — Preparing wire ends for connection
