What happens here

Thoroughly clean out any sawdust, debris, or small pieces of composite material from the newly cut channel. Inspect the exposed joists and ensure the area is clear. If the channel is intended for drainage, install a suitable waterproofing membrane or liner along the base and sides of the channel to protect the substructure from moisture. This ensures the channel functions correctly and prevents water damage.

Goal: After the channel is cut, the base needs to be prepared. This usually involves clearing debris and installing any necessary liners or underlayments, such as a waterproofing membrane, to protect the underlying structure.
