Painting New Construction Interior Walls - PVA Primer

What happens here

Before beginning to spray, ensure the workspace is clear of all furniture and obstructions. For a multi-room project or two-story house, move everything out of the area where you'll be spraying, especially when moving the spray hose to avoid damaging corners or getting paint on unintended surfaces. The presenter suggests placing empty 5-gallon buckets at corners to guide the hose and prevent it from hitting the walls or corner metal, which could cause damage or paint residue. Always work from top to bottom when spraying (ceilings first, then walls) and maintain a consistent spraying pattern (e.g., left to right for walls, top to bottom for ceilings, or vice-versa depending on personal preference/handedness). The presenter is right-handed and typically sprays from left to right on walls.

Goal: Prepare the area by clearing all obstructions, especially when moving the spray hose, and ensure proper protective gear is worn for spray application.

professional did it. All right, I've just got just about got everything set up. I'm going to start spraying upstairs. Now, I'm going to talk about ceilings. Well, we typically work from top to bottom in uh new construction. When you're spraying, you know, walls and ceilings and especially ceilings, you want to be able to walk, you know, from end to end of the room. And you don't want to have any obstructions because you don't want to have to start and stop in the middle of the room. Upstairs, everything's moved upstairs. Like downstairs, there's a lot of stuff out in the way. Eventually, when we move downstairs, we're going to move these things all out of the way. I'm going to start um moving myself upstairs, taking my hose upstairs. A couple little uh tips. You know what I like to do is take full g full 5gallon buckets that uh we're using or not using. I'm gonna set them at my corners. So when my hose is going up the stairs, my hose is not hitting the corners and messing up my corner metal, especially when like the hose connection hits that it could damage the corner. So set buckets around those corners, you know, as you're moving around the house and especially going upstairs, have somebody hopefully help feed you that hose going upstairs.
