Painting a house ALONE! Caulking The Exterior.

What happens here

Inspect the house siding for any nail heads that have popped out or broken the siding. These areas need to be filled with caulk to prevent water intrusion. For composite fiber material siding (like 'glorified cardboard'), 100% caulking the joints is not recommended, as the material needs to expand and contract. Instead, fill individual nail heads with caulk and smooth them. Also, address any areas where water has caused damage or swelling, such as the base of a corner board. If the swelling is severe, the board might need replacement, but often a good sanding and a high-adhesion primer like XIM Peel Bond can resolve the issue by bonding the fibers together and preventing further water absorption.

Goal: Repair and seal imperfections on house siding.
