Back-Brushing and Back-Rolling the First Coat

What happens here

After applying the first coat of stain, immediately follow up with back-brushing. Use a 2.5-inch brush to work the stain into all the crevices, especially the grout lines and the rough texture of the brick. For larger, flatter areas, a 3-inch roller with a 3/8-inch nap can be used for back-rolling to ensure even coverage and penetration. This step is crucial for achieving a uniform and durable finish, as it pushes the stain deeply into the porous brick material.
