Prepare the Spraying Area with Extended Masking

What happens here

Before beginning to spray, ensure that the area around the target smooth surface (e.g., a door) is masked extensively. The masking should extend several feet away from the edges of the door. This extended masking provides a disposable surface where you can safely start and stop the paint sprayer without depositing 'spits' or heavy initial spray on the actual door.
