Off Grid Living in Colorado High Country

What happens here

Josh sits down with Amy and Brian, the hosts of 'Colorado Mountain Living', against a scenic mountain backdrop. They discuss their journey of building a 1,300 square foot timber frame home, highlighting the fact that Brian, who previously worked in healthcare, taught himself timber framing. They explain their goal of off-grid living, their plans for solar and potentially wind power to achieve a near-zero footprint, and the various challenges like insulation for extreme cold and navigating local inspection processes. They also talk about their YouTube channel's origin (prompted by Josh) and their aim to share their learning process with viewers. This discussion centers on construction and sustainable living; it does not touch upon native grassland restoration or ecological revitalization of the surrounding land, beyond a general appreciation for the natural setting.

Goal: Amy and Brian discuss their experience building an off-grid timber frame home in Colorado, detailing their learning process, sustainable living goals, and construction challenges.
