Not The Start We Hoped For - We Broke The Water Main

What happens here

After the deck's demolition, the work shifted to clearing all remaining debris and preparing the ground for the new foundation. A Kubota SVL 65-2 skid steer loader and a Bobcat mini-excavator were utilized to move soil, remove existing concrete slabs (including an unexpected 8-inch thick slab that required a jackhammer), and level the area. This preparation was crucial for establishing the correct elevation and support for the new deck and addressing the grade differences with the elevated pool.

Goal: Following deck removal, extensive ground clearing and excavation were performed using heavy machinery to create a blank slate for the new, larger deck, adjusting for the yard's grade and an elevated pool area.
