What happens here

Once the helical pile is properly positioned and plumb, activate the hydraulic auger drive to begin screwing the pile into the ground. The machine's arm will extend and apply consistent downward pressure while simultaneously rotating the pile. The text overlay during this phase highlights that "helical piles are faster," illustrating the rapid progress compared to traditional methods. It is crucial to continuously monitor the pile's alignment to maintain plumbness and observe the torque applied by the machine. The pile must be driven until it reaches the specified load-bearing capacity and depth, as predetermined and verified by an engineer's calculations and soil reports. The video shows the pile progressively disappearing into the ground as it is driven deeper.

Goal: Screw the helical pile into the ground until it reaches the required depth and installation torque.

Tools and materials

  • Helical Pile GoliathTech — The foundation element being progressively driven into the earth
  • Mini Skid Steer Bobcat MT85 — Powering the hydraulic auger drive for continuous pile installation
  • Torque Monitoring Device — Measuring the precise installation torque of the helical pile, which validates its load-bearing capacity
