NO! I don't want the Government on My Farm! Here's how I messed up!

What happens here

Install a large water cistern (e.g., 1000 gallons) at a higher elevation than the water tanks it will feed. This allows the water to flow by gravity across the farm. Dig a trench from the solar well to the cistern, lay high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or PVC pipe, and connect it to the cistern's inlet. After the cistern is in place, backfill the trench. This setup ensures that once the water is pumped to the cistern, it can be distributed without continuous pumping, making the system energy-efficient.

Goal: Create an elevated gravity-fed water reservoir.

Tools and materials

  • 1000-gallon Water Cistern — Storing water pumped from the well
  • Compacted Soil and Sand — Creating a stable base for the cistern
  • HDPE Pipe — Connecting the well to the cistern and distributing water
  • Trenching Machine — Digging trenches for water lines
