Newell Coach Air Bag Install: I May Not Be Prepared for This... (FL2K Prep)

What happens here

With the old fittings removed and new ones acquired, the creator moves on to installing the new air bags. The motorhome is securely supported on jack stands, with a jack under the axle for precise positioning. He plans to bolt the top of the airbag to the chassis first, then use the jack to raise the axle for easier access to the bottom studs. He uses an impact driver to quickly secure the top nuts on the new Goodyear airbags. The process is performed on both sides of the motorhome. He explicitly clarifies that the jack is only holding the axle, while the main weight of the coach is on the jack stands, addressing common safety concerns.

Goal: Mount the new air bags to the motorhome chassis.

Tools and materials

  • Floor Jack — Adjusting the axle height for installation
  • Jack Stands — Supporting the motorhome securely
  • New Airbags Goodyear — Replacing old, worn airbags
  • Nyloc Nuts — Securing the airbag bolts

basically uh what i got to do put them in bolt them all up and then put the big fittings in the top and then hook up the big lines so those go in the last it's pretty straightforward it's all three quarters i got new uh nylock bolts or nuts for those so i don't reuse the old ones i think what i'm gonna do is i'm going to bolt the top in first on probably both of both of them and then jack up the axle more to do the bottom studs because it's only one bolt and i just like to clarify i've been getting a lot of dumb comments on my last video oh you picked that thing up with a jack the jack is only holding the axle up there are stands under there holding the hole holding the whole couch i failed to comprehend okay so you think how are you holding that whole thing up with the jack the airbags are out people there's no bags on this side the jack is right here how could this possibly be holding up the entire coach if there's no airbags in there maybe i overestimate people sometimes but i think that makes pretty good sense to me as to why that would not work but anyway we'll get back at it let's get started with this i'll do it hand tight to finish it so i know exactly how tight it is because i never just leave it with the impact i always you know do it with my hands so i can feel it for sure what it's doing i hope you guys know how much longer it takes me to do things when i gotta worry about filming at first but it's important to me just getting that on there now i'm gonna buzz that down and do the same the other side
