Back on the Road: Getting Ready for the Newell Coach Factory Trip! (Finish Air Bags, Other Stuff)

series 69. you know how many people think that's real like well i never knew detroit made serious 69 and like i think they're they're screwing with me so then i say yeah you know it's pretty wild like they only made one series 69 and it's in my bus how about that what a coincidence like wow dude that's crazy i'm like right over your head you kidding me there's no series 69 okay all right new plane of attack i'm finishing this today for sure no question not taking anything else for answer i went to the gt southwest hose and i got a new line made because uh the reason i was having such difficulty with this one is if you like pull this up a little bit and look in there very end threads are all rusted and it was just not like you can see as far as it got in there it just did not want to go anymore because it was just goobered up i got a new one now it was like 50 bucks they made it in literally two minutes i was shocked how quickly it was and on the engine bay door the hinges are all whacked out from getting stuck and getting pulled on like even when i was looking at this thing the old guy was like had a problem getting it so he just kept jiggling and pulling on it well what that did is it dislodged the allen from the fiberglass so the hinge was not unlatching and on top of that the actual stud that it goes onto is loose so it wasn't actually disconnecting so i got to tighten those clean that out and i'm just gonna jb weld that back together because i can and it'll be fine as long as these are tight it'll be okay i had to take these tail light bezels off to pull these bottom two lights out so i could stick my arm down in there and pop that out we're on the home stretch now and if we're not then we are anyway because i'm not gonna i'm not gonna let it not beat so let's get at it i talked to cooper for quite a while yesterday about like fl 2k stuff and what i should do for that and they don't really have any classes that fit the escalade that well i'd either get stomped in the first round or have to sand bag for 10.50 and probably get stomped by somebody who cuts the perfect light and runs 10-5-0 every time and they don't run tests in tune either so we're kind of thinking now i'll just take my time get ready for everything i need then go down there we'll make a bunch of videos then we'll hit a test in tune after the fact like when you know when there's not a bunch of people there and we'll go for eight seconds then but before that you know i gotta continue getting ready get get the new ready to make the trip uh get the escalade ready tomorrow i may go down to the newel factory because andrew's steel's supposed to be there so i'm kind of thrashing to get this done now i'm just procrastinating doing the work so i'm going to stop and do the work i'm like hyper aware of when i'm what i'm doing and why i'm doing it all the time like knowing that i'm talking longer than i need to because i'm avoiding doing stuff bring me some grease logan like that thank you sir perfect you think i think you bring me a little bit more of that card but like cardboard paper because i could you need some toothpaste with that yeah okay oh i got the toothpaste it's got copper any seeds but i want to put some paper over this pipe here because it keeps making my arm itchy okay yeah you want the paper or like an actual box the paper like the paper from the header box yeah this isn't really as aggressive as i'd like but it's better than uh nothing oh i don't even know how much this does like it's held on with plastic zip ties how hot could it really be it looks like a dog like like a dog's tail fiberglass a fuzzy doll all right yeah why don't you pet it with your face i'm gonna pass okay i'm just gonna put a little anti-seize here just to help it help it get going time for the big one i have the big wrench now two i am a bear so tight to me with giant wrench is from the fittings perspective oh my god i was not designed to do this crack so i'm just going to stop here and see see what it does when i go to the other side i'm probably not going to take the wheel off because i don't know why i took it off in the first place really i just thought i needed to i think i don't know good question i just did it like that real quick with the wheel up so that the i wasn't fighting any kind of weight to get the conical part of the nut to seat in the wheel where it wants to and this is not a functional torque wrench it's broken it's just a big breaker bar now i have a real torque wrench that i will use to tighten these the right way do all right [Music] here's the tag tire this one's got a leak in it so it always goes low on me i need to replace it get this thing all filled up go over the other ones then we'll hit the engine bay door now i'm going to get to tightening these here uh you see this outer part is actually a bolt outside all the goo and the inside has a bolt also so i'm probably just going to throw some vice grips over here because it's gross and do that on both sides and lower this down a bit unscrew that clean it out jb weld it we'll see if it works i just centered it kind of where the witness mark is where it used to be or should be because then that's where it should line up with the hinge correctly i'm gonna do the same on the other side here so what's happening here is uh it's broke but it's why it's broken it's just out of it's just bent so how this works is that's closed right here this cable releases that but the problem is is it gets stuck up it can't do that so whenever this comes back down there's nothing to unlatch it what i got to do is poke that through there which is how i got this undone a couple weeks ago but i'm going to have to probably bend this back so that this doesn't over extend because where it blocks right at that piece there that's what keeps it from doing it and it's just a little bit too much and lets that top lock pop down so we'll bend that back and see if that uh that gets it good because over here i just did that it was kind of doing the same thing and but it was so bad that this ledge here had gone past its little stopper and been like rotated up like this little this little boot here was up here there things right there boom that one is money and i just got to get a way to you know secure it in here better so it doesn't pop loose again oh i didn't film it but i just grabbed this with some pliers just rip bent it a little bit now it works fine money money money does not pop out so i think we're uh we're good to go this cable seen some better days i could replace that later probably next time it breaks and gets leave me you know so i can't open it then i'll replace it honestly i think it'll be fine if it's tightened in its little socket and then just not reefed on like it was before um by me or the old guy before that this was probably already broken because this uh this break looks too dirty to be fresh so i don't think it was for me i think it was always like that it was just a building issue and i'm the one that gets to deal with it so we're looking pretty fly right now gotta got that in there i locked them both in place i give it a little test two clicks money money now i can uh i can put these bezels back on here actually screw the lights back into they're just sitting there put those back on i'm not going to close this right now i'm just going to leave it open and let the jb weld sit because uh because i'm pro you know pro fubar whatever we're doing it i think plan is to have the newel tomorrow meet up with andrew steele and do some stuff getting these lights screwed back in here i uh noticed it whenever robbie gordon had this thing painted whoever painted it didn't even take the lights out they just taped over them because all the screws and like in here it has overspray and remnants of like the old original white paint job that i guess would have been on there whenever al unser jr had it which i still don't know i still don't know what that looks like i really want to find out what the original paint job on this thing looks like and then al doesn't remember because he got a new one of these like every year the last time he saw this thing i wasn't even born yet when i met up with him though he did remember he's like oh yeah my wife threw a brick through that window or a rock i think it was a rock so they got an argument at the lake or something threw a rock through the window so there's that eventually i'll take these back off and paint them real nice right now i gotta get it back together so i can drive uh it's just like standard water jet or like laser something plate aluminum like what i would make an ice tank out of pretty much this is the it's all hand-built stuff and you can you can tell there huh josh snyder just texted me that is the guy that i did the test drive and factory tour with at the newell factory if you haven't seen that yet go check it out um i'm going he must know that i'm coming up tomorrow it's mint i'm going to the other side now but you just saw me do that side so if you want to see me the other side um hit that skip backwards 10 seconds button like eight times and just pretend it's the one over there this will be the first time i've moved this thing in a month pretty much because after i got back from no more than a month almost two months because i got back from ice cream cruise and parked it and i went to sturgis with it parked here with my truck that was the beginning of august so this thing it's been two months since i've moved this we're about to pull out i'm really pumped to drive it again actually especially now because my rear end shouldn't be sagging one way and i won't be like fighting the wheel all the time it should ride way nicer now and i see some of you say oh it won't ride nice because you change the bags yes it will i'll tell you why because if the air system is not holding its maintained pressure because it's bleeding off all the time it's not going to ride like it's designed to now that i've fixed those leaks in the back from my air leak quest videos you should go watch those if you haven't seen them already i fixed two major leaks back there so it's holding air much better now like it would visibly sag and lean going down the road you can't tell me that it's gonna ride exactly the same if it's sitting where it's supposed to with this the specified pressure it's just gonna be better deal with it no camera crew just me [Applause] no big al out in the wild for the first time in two months man when it's sitting there in the same spot all the time i forget how freaking sick it looks when it's just like out ready to do stuff i don't know this is cool i like it enough staring more driving we're gonna go to now we're gonna go to blue beacon and pilot get it fueled up washed up ready to rip i may even load up and start driving tonight i don't know after i finish this video and upload it and then i might hit the road we'll see because i'm already unplugged and out of the building you know if i load up tomorrow i'm gonna get sweaty loading the truck up and then i gotta drive like that you know it's just but do it all now then i'm you know i'm all set for tomorrow's shenanigans just listen to this real quick right here give it a little i'm i'm not gonna continue to drive like this so this is basically a complete waste of time because i could have just loaded up and filled up tomorrow whatever i guess it was a good test drive to make sure everything was working okay but yeah fueled up and you know ready to hit the road i might load my truck up when i get back i'm kind of feeling like i'll do that because it's not very cold out so i won't have to run the generator it's just gonna then i can wake up and i'm gonna load up tonight just got to uh take elvis hook up to the trailer get in the vicinity of the newell unhook pull forward back up drag trailer to the hitch i'll pick it up myself put it on there hook it up and then elvis goes on the trailer then after all that i import this footage edit it upload it schedule it and i go to bed [Music] i run into that sometimes where the pin height kind of gets changed i'll have to go in there fire this thing up air up the rear a little bit so i can pull the pin out of the foot and hook up the rest of the way just part of the process pins kind of at a mismatched height between where it lands on the truck and where it lands being hooked up to this thing so [Music] now you might be wondering is that trailer able to actually carry that thing yes it is uh that's a six lug trailer it has the 10 000 pound or i guess each axle rated 5200 pounds trailer weighs 2 000. the truck weighs 68 something i think without me in it so it's within the carry-ability of this trailer 1000 percent no issue that's why i got the big one so load it on up grab it down elvis is all strapped up big al prepped and ready to go everything's loaded up i'm just gonna literally air airdrop this clip from my phone to my computer because i forgot to film an outro upload it schedule it so when it goes live in the morning i wake up turn it on hit the road that's my plan the new old factory to meet up with andrew and maybe maybe i'll be able to drag race his uh bravo tour bus we're gonna destroy that thing destroy that thing maybe we'll even get to race a p-50 too i'm telling you what we're gonna do some racing for sure with something and i'm not going to lose i'm just not not going to happen i can promise you that
