What happens here
After the engraving is complete, carefully remove the wood map from the machine. Use a soft brush or compressed air to thoroughly clean off any lingering dust, ash, or debris from the engraved areas. To achieve the vibrant blue 'water' effect seen in the video, you can apply a blue wood stain or paint specifically to the lake sections. Once the color is dry, apply a clear coat sealant, such as polyurethane or lacquer, over the entire map. This will protect the wood from moisture and wear, while also enhancing the wood's natural tones and the engraved details. The video also shows small wooden markers (hearts and stars) being used. You can super glue these onto specific locations on your map, such as your home, cabin, or a memorable fishing spot, to add a personal touch.
Goal: Protect, color, and personalize the engraved lake map.
