NEW BUILD! Saving My 1972 LSA Monte Carlo From Car Port Disaster!

I came back here for a multitude of reasons one of which is selling my trailer but one of the other ones is the carport that my money Carlo was in blew off the car and screwed it up like messed up the car and I need to get that taken care of take that over to my friends body shop to get it fixed I stole an alternator pulley off of Monte Carlo last year around this time because the power master alternator I have in the Escalade was spinning too fast and it blew up so I got another one and I stole that pulley because it was slightly bigger and it seemed to stop the issue however I never put it back together as you can see the carport it's over there some of the cinder blocks that were holding it down are still there yeah I know you're supposed to stick it in the ground but there's literally nowhere here that I could put it in the ground at so I had to do this and had I known that I was gonna be gone for as long as I was I would have moved it inside but I didn't have room for it with the Escalade so it's it's pretty screwed up you can see there's a lot of paint on there like some maybe some body filler or something I don't even know a lot of paint it was never great it was pretty good but obviously now it's it's dict like this is cinder block and I'm so so glad that it didn't hit the window because if it took out a window then it would have been raining and crap on the interior this whole time which would have been horrible cuz the interior is still really nice I got like Corbeau seats in it but this is all this is all messed up real bad that's not possible and something cracked the the windshield there I think I'm gonna put the stock flat hood back on it because I bought that hood for the big block I used to have with the Dominator carburetor didn't fit into the flat hood so I had to get that and now the LS motor does fit in there he's freakin messed up there - god I hate myself honestly I had to do it I just didn't I didn't have room to keep this in the shop and work on the Escalade at the same time so it got it got the boot but God was never like this I always you know I'd take it out and clean it and you know let it run and stuff but it's been sitting for almost a year since the last time I fired up but we're gonna see if it'll start because every time I've tried to start it since it's been dormant I just hooked the battery back up and it fires right up so I don't know if the battery will have enough juice left in it to do that even though it's been unhooked but uh we're gonna see this is literally like a barn find like I can't even it just looks like terrible it hurts this car has given me nothing but problems for forever like I put all this LSA stuff on here from the Escalade in freaking 2017 I did that and the transmission I got with the pull out was jumped from the beginning it never worked so I put the Escalades old transmission in it with some kind of like hodgepodge tail shaft slip yoke configuration that I figured out and that one slips third and fourth which is what's in there right now so it'll it'll run and drive around but it can't like hold any power I didn't kill the rest of the way to find out but it's all it's all here I even made a nice intake for it like just freakin crap everywhere god I feel so bad but let's get this battery hooked back up and see if there's a little boil fire up how we got a hook back up I brought the jump pack but I kind of want to see if it'll start under its own nut just just for fun and I haven't been in here since to see it's like any rodents got got Wilder the first inspection seems to be all right that's just dirt from my fegan in and out of it there crap there I'm 60/40 in favor of not firing up because it's been a long time okay 80/20 that fuel pump sounded pretty healthy here we go okay never mind let's get this jump back hooked up alright we got it on there let's see if it'll work this time around it makes me cringe every time I see that what - now it's doing nothing go well I don't know what the heck that's all about the flashing don't know what that means Oh tighten the ground try it again and the white went for making noise or nothing at all Carlo thingy did that years ago this car really haven't had any tension three three years at least and it was neglected for a year before that is the 6-2 from the Escalade aluminum block with the BTR PDS three cams sweet engineering headers we got a fuel leak I don't know I shut this off all right move yeah okay well that was fun but glad I got that fire kind of scares the crap out of me so I'll address that later now we're gonna see if my suburban will start so the deal with this bad boy here it's a 93 GMC Suburban I bought it out of Oklahoma actually ironically the original owner one owner truck this is bill what's up bill what the significance that bill serves is way back in the day bill basically taught me how to work on cars Manitou got five years at least that was 2015 I think when you brought your Mustang in here for like late 14 yeah right after I got this thing we went to high school together but I never talked to you and we didn't start talking until you went past the football field and your Mustang and I said it one my friend little egg I think I could beat that thing either going oh man it looks pretty fast I'm like no it's not the Audi a8 so I pulled out my phone and I was like frenzy on Facebook you know I don't know I just think I feel like you want to racing you're like yeah I meet me at the blue blue 422 in like an hour and I was like all right let's go that was like the most intense race around it was like the same like literally the same 95 Mustang yeah that was look if I was like a four six the blue one the blue in the Air Force X convertible yeah yeah we did a couple digs you pop out on me and then I pass you it like 130 like a snail's pace like it was like so close every time well that was it and you we couldn't get the converter putting up in this car cuz Shawn bolted it to the flex plate okay you come over and I'm like we're out of options here I'm just like we need to call somebody who knows what they're doing so I texted you you came over and you put that thing in like 15 minutes and we're like oh my god how did he do that because we struggle with that thing for hours that night ratchet straps up hook it up pulling it up holding it up to Tom it was a mess and all started with this car now five years later it's a barn find and we're gonna put an alternator back on it because I stole the pulley from it to put on the Escalade last summer and that was like one of the in-between events they're ashes and I didn't bother to put this back together because transmissions like half-smoked so that we're gonna make it work you just want to like do it in 15 minutes like you usually do with this car nobody just talked about this earlier but we put Paulie body mounts on this thing or say he'll pull a body mounts on this thing I just handed him tools well you're supposed to do it one side of the time he just unbold them all and now the body's frickin crooked on the frame yeah let's see the gap on that wheel there and then on this one it's way closer I couldn't figure it out for life me and then I realized that there's like an alignment hole under there that you're supposed to use that was like spring 2015 when we put the solid roller in my big block and tried to set laughs with a piece of paper [Laughter] we're like oh you know it's like X amount of thousands forever and it's like you looked at evidence like X amount of thousands is roughly the thickness of a piece of paper so we're like well this cam card looks good let's do that and it ran it didn't even stop it was so out of whack and I just like made like no power not this thing ran like a rape tape when it actually worked right though oh yeah did you ever ride in it when the big block was like not screwed up yeah whenever it was twisting it it twisted yeah that was you were their only dyno tuned it yeah and it made like five ten and then we added more jet to it and it made like five seventy I never got to drive it on five seventy cuz we went we went back and then I was sick so I didn't do anything for a few days and then I drove this car again I took it out and now it had enough power to blow the tires off all the time so I was just letting it eat on the rev limiter couldn't sounded cool and then I was coming up here and then I hear something like clanging and I thought it was this trim piece because it used to pop off all the time well I pulled on the garage and it was a rod bearing so that that's probably because we changed the rod bolts with an impact and just put the motor back together without checking any of the clearances we're just like oh it says 75 foot pounds cool put it together or on your Mustang whenever you pounded the ride and like jam the rod ball into the crank spit all up and then you just like saying it back down and load together and the thing ran for like 40 miles that video is still in YouTube you freaking bomb down this road smoke coming out at like backfires probably had a freaking flat cam lobe by the end of that bowl it sounded great though with this being on Facebook just freaking revving the piss out of it with the old Sun Pro attack from autozone all the way up next day blown up what happened builds Carl oh I don't know he would stop talking about it yeah freaking that motor came in and out like five different times yeah I was like melted my side do you have any scars from that still nice cars that's impressive because you were pretty screwed up after that I was like not that far from you mean you were like right there I was standing about here and it kind of sprayed that way and got you all and I'd ran the other way I don't know he did things like I tried driving over in park causal buddy yeah my mom can take a left car inside the Crown Vic Crown Vic it was a it was a Crown Vic but it was a Grand Marquis Grand Marquis it's Grand Marquis yeah yeah you pull that vacuum line off and practiced in parallel park and just waiting in line is incriminating but you know it was like five years ago statute of limitations that never happened I think this I don't think this is your any that came off of it it might have been I don't remember putting it back together after I stole a pulley off of it but I think this is the one we need is that connector the same on there yes I got that yeah that's it then we got your speaker wire alternator cord because we built this car we built this car in like two weeks to try to get to Drag Week 2017 and we made it to the dyno and it wouldn't get out of first year and that was depressing and that was the last time this car really saw any effort but it would it runs and whatever it's just got a screwed up yeah well we just put it on I guess I don't know what other choice we have really there's supposed to be a bolt way down here and it's totally gone I think that I don't know why that's off maybe I loosened it or took it out that you're gonna need a big space suit for that one yeah that's weird I might have to get a scour the lot it could have been maybe I just stuffed it back in there and didn't thread it in and it fell out whenever I rolled it down here because it didn't move the whole time but we got the two for the alternator here that other things missing for a while I don't know we'll see here so it took me like two minutes to walk up there and look for that spacer and come back and you already put it on it's done that it that's it he's done already that's a tent go grab that but I think I said this before but that's not my car obviously that's the guy who owns this whole place he put it in here whenever I left I'm not gonna move it well what breeze on it do you tighten it all day or not so we're gonna start so we're good to go he's gonna put the belt on that's a 15 right where I left it I remember how this goes I've done I've done this a lot of times bring it around town just like SpongeBob's head and then it comes up here yeah that's the money right there I'll get it around the crank pulley first and then slide it on to one of the smooth Ollie's you're there get here good there get on that thing blower hip we good ones we'll jump it jump it fire it up and then I can track down that fuel leak it comes out of that the the bottom of that little line that goes from the regulator than the rail see this dude's a pro he puts it on the one that goes to the starter not the lug just little things yeah good crank your up it'll go it had to prime it's not leaking yet Oh give it a little lap lap see if we can knock that cobweb off without touching it [Applause] he's already on it the factory computer LS stuff generally runs the 58 pf5 for face and then aftermarket stuff you can do like 40 but this one particular one needs 58 because it's a factory pc e 38 ECU the weekend well then thank fricking Dale Earnhardt came down from the heavens and fixed it last night if it was leaking pretty bad last time I touched it soon interior cut well we're about ten thousand five hundred rpm all the time because we do for Dale this is the first time in person good healthy [Applause] no I'm gonna pull this hood off and take the heat exchanger out to get the factory head back on there and I'll does not I'll redo the heat exchanger and stuff whenever I put a better trainee and it doesn't suck bill just just doing Bill stuff here I've never done this before he tell he has the springs back on your first attempt was cleaner just like everything wrong that's it cool I get this big behemoth back on there that'll be fun pull pull the heat exchanger out we pull that latch back in real quick freaking getting killed by a golf club it makes sense well we got the stock hood back on the lodge back in heat exchangers temporarily removed we're all good to go Bill's leaving driving movies Bill's dad built some some ridiculous stuff ridiculous 10 foot by 16 foot wooden white movie screen weighs 500 pounds in your yard in the yard inside of the garage doors didn't your grandpa put a TV in the bathroom turned the wires inside out so he could watch it from the mirror while he was pooping where you come from drives the crane truck yeah bang bang get her done we did good today off a body shop tomorrow cool we'll say later Oh hopefully like the Monte Carlo should be fun one
