Which nail gun do you actually need? Let's get after it. First one, 18-gauge brad nail. Very thin nail and leaves a small hole. Great for decorative trim, quarter round, thinner material, things that don't require a lot of holding power. 16-gauge finishing nail. Baseboard, door trim, window casing. The higher the number, the smaller the nail. Brad nail, finish nail. Significantly larger hole on the finish nail than the brad nail. Framing nail. Used for framing, sheathing, fencing, things like that. Framing nails also come in different magazine angles. You'll often see 21, 28, 30, and 34. Angles are determined by how the nails are collated in the magazine and not the angle that the nail gets driven into the wood. So, make sure you buy the right nails that fit your nail gun. There are tons of different nail guns out there, whether they're for flooring, roofing, whatever the case is. But, these are my top three that I would start with as a homeowner. Anyways, I got stuff to do. I'll catch you guys later. Peace.
