Unloading Heavy Sawmill Sections
At 2:05 in
More VINTAGE IRON arrives on the farm...but what the heck is it?
What happens here
Lane begins by unsecuring various components from the flatbed trailer. The John Deere skid steer, now fitted with pallet forks, proceeds to carefully unload the heaviest sections of the sawmill. First, the main carriage (the log-bearing section) is lifted and moved. Subsequently, the power unit, an industrial Ford engine, is also lifted from the trailer and positioned on temporary wooden supports. These heavy components are strategically placed on the gravel driveway for a preliminary setup.
Goal: Heavy components of the sawmill, including the carriage and power unit, are untied from the trailer and carefully moved by the skid steer to initial temporary positions on wooden supports.
