Modern NO SAG Trailer Gate #diy
What happens here
Prepare the wooden slats by cutting them to the required length using a Ryobi miter saw set up on a saw stand. Ensure all cuts are consistent for a uniform appearance. Once cut, begin attaching these horizontal slats to the gate frame. Start from the bottom of the frame. Use a Ryobi nail gun to secure each slat, driving nails into the vertical posts or existing frame members. A small wooden spacer block should be used between each slat to maintain consistent gaps, which allows for wood expansion/contraction and drainage. Use a spirit level to check the first few slats for perfect horizontal alignment.
Goal: Cover the lower section of the gate frame with horizontal wooden slats.
