Install Gate Hardware
At 0:47 in
Modern NO SAG Trailer Gate #diy
What happens here
With the gate panels fully clad, proceed to install the necessary hardware. First, attach two decorative black gate pull handles to the meeting edges of the double gates. Use the Ryobi cordless drill to drive the screws provided with the handles. Next, install a black gate latch near the top of one gate panel, positioning it to securely engage with the adjacent gate when closed. Finally, install two heavy-duty black drop bolts (also known as cane bolts): one at the bottom and one near the top of the gate panel that does not have the primary latch. These bolts allow one gate panel to be secured independently to the ground or the upper frame, providing stability. Ensure all hardware is level and plumb before tightening screws completely.
Goal: Equip the gates with functional and secure opening/closing mechanisms and locking features.
