Shield Soffits and Upper Edges

What happens here

When painting along the soffit (the finished underside of the roof overhang) or other high horizontal edges, hold the craft cardboard shield directly underneath the edge you are currently spraying. This creates a barrier that catches any paint that 'kicks out' from the sprayer, preventing it from adhering to the soffit, being carried by wind, or settling on nearby surfaces. Ensure the shield is close enough to the surface being protected without interfering with your spray pattern on the target surface.

Goal: Position the craft cardboard shield at the end of the soffit or along any upper edge to prevent paint from traveling upwards or being caught by wind, ensuring clean lines on the underside of overhangs.
