Understand Common Touch-Up Challenges

this Chris idah hope here on pay live TV today I'm going to be talking about the art of doing touchups this is something that you um it takes some time it takes some practice but doing touch-ups right in the center of a wall can be difficult can be frustrating and I'm going to give you some tips and tricks to make this successful for you so recently I had somebody come into um our sore paint lights of lco and they were um having a lot of frustration doing touchups in the center of the walls so through my questioning the customer they um didn't have the original paint they were going to Home Depot and buying a paint they didn't know the original Sheen and they were just um having the uh a color match done of the color now if you ever try to do a color match from one product from a company and use a different product you're never going to have the exact color and you're never going to have the exact Sheen so your touch-ups are always going to show now um the touch-ups the customer was trying to do is they were removing pictures trying to get the house ready to sell you'll have what we call haloing around the pictures and it's kind of like dust buildup um it could be um fading from light coming in and stuff but there's these Rings where the pictures were they're removing Nails spackling them and trying to touch that up and this can be extremely difficult if you don't have the original pain don't ever think you're going to do touch-ups and have any type of success if you don't have the original paint paint or you're going to the um a paint store and just doing a computer color match now paint stores what they typically do like at your um home improvement stores um Home Depot loads and stuff like that they'll take a sample of the paint just take a color um photograph of it using your color eye they're just going to mix it right up and it's going to be kind of close it's never going to be an exact what you got to do is adjust it um with the human eye from there but even the best color matchers will never get an exact match now even it's even though it's on the inside of a house um you do have Windows that um are allowing light sunlight UV rays to come into the house so you're definitely going to have some ma Sheen loss over time and you're going to going to have color fading over time too so the longer the period of time the more difficult the touch-ups are going to be so don't think you're going to be able to get an exact match if the paint job has been like 10…
