Master Airless Spraying. Tips To Become A Master Level Sprayer.

What happens here

The project involves sealing the block walls of the Idaho State Observatory to ensure longevity and protection against the elements, including waterproofing, UV protection, and prevention of efflorescence and salt damage, all while preserving the natural stone appearance without adding sheen or altering its color. A silicone-based emulsion coating is chosen for these properties. It is critical to note that once a silicone-based product is applied, other coatings, such as solid color stains, cannot be applied over it in the future, as nothing adheres to silicone.

Goal: Identify the project requirements for sealing block walls to waterproof, protect from salt/chemicals, prevent efflorescence, and provide UV protection without changing the natural look. Select a silicone-based emulsion coating that meets these criteria.

[Music] so we're out here today um I knew Idaho State Observatory the brutal sand dunes so we're going to be sealing some block today so it's a pretty cool project we've got um really cool we're going to show you the Dome that rotates and opens they're gonna be mounting a state-of-the-art telescope in this um in this building so we're going to be sealing some block today uh inside and outside to make this thing last they wanted something on the outside of this block to seal it to really waterproof it and then protect it from Salt and chemicals so any F4 essence or salts up wanted to protect this Natural Stone so it looks natural like this we don't want any Sheen to it but I'm going to be using a silicone-based Emulsion coating to put on here to waterproof it and it's also going to give it some UV protection but it's not going to change the color of itself and being silicone based one thing you need to know is once you put it on there you can't top coat it with anything if you want use a solid color stain down the road you're not going to be able to do it because it is silicone-based and nothing sticks to silicone one of the big challenges was the product that we wanted like a silicone polymer or silicone Emulsion there's not a lot of them available right now and a lot of challenges trying to get I'm sure winds didn't have you know the ones we wanted you're going to use xs5000 was one of the ones we could use couldn't get it anywhere but Valspar did have a product a concrete sealer that's a silicone based product so infused silicone so we're gonna be using that today and I'm
