Ah, smart boy. Experienced truck driver. Damn, that guy knows what he's doing. If it is what I'm hoping it is, this isn't for me. The biggest giveaway I've ever done anywhere, ever. Oh sh and go enter. How you going to unload it? Through the door here. So I'll have this screen go in there. That'll be [Music] terrible. Good morning one and all. If you were starting a lawn care company for the first time or maybe if you were going maybe you already own one and you went back in time and could start it all over again. How would you do it? The reason I asked this question is my nephew is coming over today and he is doing exactly that. He's never had a lawn care company or an outdoor service, but he's also not a kid. He's uh basically wasn't engineered by trade and he got sick of living under somebody else's thumb and wants to take his destiny in his own hands. And I don't blame him for it because there's nothing worse than having your fate in the hands of somebody else. Meaning they can hire you, they can fire you, can they can dictate when you can come to work. They tell you what your tasks are, what has to be done. People weren't meant to live like that. I don't believe. Well, okay, I digress. Some people absolutely thrive under that kind of structure. Absolutely thrive and there is zero things wrong with that. Some people need that kind of structure. And then there's some people that can't survive under that kind of structure that every every cell in their body tells them to flee from it, to fight against it. They can't do it. So there's there's there's, you know, there's a right and a wrong whether you're starting a company or not. So I didn't mean to step on the toes of those people that love having that structure, that don't mind working for someone else and and love being able to turn their job on at 9 and turn it off at 5 and then be able to go out and do the rest of their life. There's there's beauty in that because if you're the opposite guy and you can't live under that kind of structure and you take your destiny in your own hands, you it's because your mind is going 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your ability to turn it off ceases to function because it becomes all-encompassing. the success, your dreams, your goals, your visions, your drive, your motivation, your determination to accomplish whatever it is that has that has planted itself inside of your soul and says, "We're going to do this. We're going to do this on our own." So, it's become very clear to me there are two types of people in the world. Um, and there's nothing wrong with either of them. It's the balance, you know. Brings me back to Timmy, my business partner, Timmy. I wouldn't be here without Timmy. He's a freaking awesome dude. But he is the balance. I'm the drive and he is the he's the technical person that puts all those details forward. It's like having, you know, a a true entrepreneurial spirit is like trying to to harness a wild horse. Now, I mean, I'm using an analogy that probably most people wouldn't understand, but if you ever took a horse that hasn't been broke, and you you try to you try to throw them in a harness, oh man, you're going to have a hell of a time. You're going to have a hell of a time. You are definitely going to have a good time, right? Um, but that horse has to go. that horse, a true entrepreneurial spirit, someone that's got that drive can't be held back. Now, we're completely off topic, but who cares? Sometimes it's fun to just to sit and talk about some of the craziest stuff you can think of and see where you're at and see where I'm at and see where things are at. But my nephew will be here today and we got a big day. It's just it's a big day. It's just a big flipping day. Um, and he's going to be setting up his lawn care business and I'm going to help him set it up. I'm going to sell him everything used and he's my nephew. So, make sure that uh I ain't going to do it for him. I'm not doing it for him. I will never do that because that will deprive him of the lessons he has to learn to be successful. You know the the the the trial by fire is absolutely critical to the success. Your setbacks are absolutely fundamentally critical to your overall success. The problems are critical. Um all of the hardships are required. If you don't have those things, you'll never know what it's truly like to be successful and to taste the sweet flavor of success because it's those hardships that make it even better when you overcome them. Those hardships are phenomenal for building character. There's nothing better for building character than to face those issues headon and to come out on the other end of it. Timmy, he's asked me, he's like, he's looked right at me and said, "How do you stay so calm when there's so many things going wrong?" And in the beginning, it always bit me. It always hurt. It was hard. I couldn't believe it. Why me? Oh, poor me. blah blah blah blah blah. Why? You weren't used to it. And that's the same curse that happens to a lot of young entrepreneurs. Why me? You know, but as you age and you get your scars and your battle wounds, the problems don't go away, but how you view them absolutely goes away. How you view them changes completely as you get older and wiser because you no longer live in that moment. You're here and an issue's here and it hits you straight on. Young entrepreneurs are in this moment where it's hitting them straight on. But an old entrepreneur, someone that's been down the road of running a business, isn't here hitting the problem straight on. Only a part of him is here hitting the problem straight on. He sends a couple scouts up ahead of the problem 2 months, 3 months, a year, two years into the future. And he says, "There's a problem today, but my focus can't be on what's happening in the moment. I need to understand that I have to be able to look at this problem from a different perspective and pull the absolute good out of that problem. So an experienced entrepreneur puts just enough effort into that moment to overcome that problem, but he also puts enough thought into that problem ahead of time. What is the best possible scenario for what is happening today? If I'm not in this situation right here, right now, how can I look at this and become a better, stronger version of myself so that I never have to face this problem again or I have a solution if I ever have to face this problem again or it just doesn't become a problem. So he sends scouts up ahead and uses that to look back in time to say, "How can I deal with this issue?" Because there's always something good that comes out of every trial by fire. There is never nothing that doesn't come good out of it. It's a matter of your perspective and how you can find that perspective. And as you gain wisdom when you get older, your ability to appreciate the trials by fire for what they offer you longterm changes. It's no longer a shortterm issue that you got to address right there. It's a short-term problem, but a long-term gain. You go up from every trial by fire. So, I would never take a an issue away from a person. And that doesn't that that includes my own nephew. He'll be coming over. You'll meet him and uh he's going to be facing problems and I'm going to let him because that's how you get to be better. That's how when I'm dead and gone and no one is there to coach him or you, you be your own coach. That's when the magic starts to happen. Let's get the day started. You guys put butter in your coffee. I put butter in my coffee every day. I'm on a carnivore diet, by the way. I started this new thing called the carnivore diet. I only eat meat, some eggs. I eat a ton of butter, butter, butter, and cheese. And I'll tell you, there's a couple health changes I've made that have been the absolute most phenomenal health changes I've ever made. But I think that should be set for a different video at a different time. Let's keep this one rolling on track. But if any of you guys want to know about some of those other things, I was contemplating making a video on it because if maybe you're an older guy like me, I love hearing what's worked for other older guys. Real experience, not some fabricated BS, but the real deal. If you want to hear about it, let me know in the comments down below. But let's keep this one rolling. I always like when big trucks come with special packages. Nope. Nope. You're turning the wrong way, buddy. You just missed it. I'm up here waving. Or is he going to back up? Oh, he is a good If he's backing up. Ah, smart boy. Experienced truck driver. Uh-huh. Yep. Well, we'll see how experienced he is. Can he make that corner? Yes, he is making that corner. Yep. Experienced truck driver. You can always tell the experienced truck drivers. Always. Always. They're thinking ahead. Thinking ahead. Always thinking ahead. Man, that's the problem. If you don't think ahead when you're a truck driver, you get yourself into some situations that you wish you'd never been in. Now he's lining up on me. So, I'll just He's got me in his mirrors. You can see him coming up. Look at him tailing right in. Damn. That guy knows what he's doing. He knows what he's doing. Oh man, if he stops that right in front of my pickup truck. Oh, look at that. Sweet. Oh, he's going to do it. Oh yeah. Oh, baby. Look at that. You can always appreciate So, I'm guessing this is it, huh? Oh, man. I was just saying to the to the guys in the camera, you can always tell an experienced truck driver because they're thinking ahead. And I'm like, well, we'll we'll we'll tell pretty quick. Is he experienced or not? And yeah, you backed right up and then I was like, no, wait a minute. We'll see how good he is. Is he going to hit that corner going around it? Nope. Nope. I'm guessing you've uh been a driver for a while. Yeah, I've done it for a while. How long have you been a driver for? 7 years now. Seven years. Well, I mean, I drove semiis for like about seven years when I drove, you know, straight trucks and stuff like that before that. Oh, well, that all counts. I mean, if you were driving straight trucks before it. Yeah. I mean, what's different than a semi? Of course, you got to get used to the turning in. True. But it's this way. Not It's the planning, right? Right. It's kind of like I don't know. It doesn't look like there's a big area to turn around here. There's no area to turn around. That's the thing. A a good truck figure is not that hard. You know, a good truck driver is always planning his route ahead of time. All right. I So, I don't know what's in the packages. I don't know. I just know there's packages coming. I know what I'm hoping it is. If it is what I'm hoping it is, this isn't for me. We'll see. Mama's got her hands full with two babies. Almost like you did that once or twice, too. Flop them tires right off the [Music] bat. Yeah, that one usually This is This is good right here. Yeah. I got to pick it up and hike it to the back anyway. Oh, mom's got a park though. So, are you going to hike it up before mom? Yeah, I'm going to hike it up right away. Kind of a Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. This is This is exactly what I was hoping it it is. No, I didn't get my Christmas present. [Music] This This is it, guys. The biggest giveaway I've ever done anywhere, ever. This is the landscapers package right here. Just go to the Dirt Monkey shop and you can enter for free. You can get all of this. One winner gets all of this. A second winner gets all of this. This is the Packout package right here. You got to This is the pet Milwaukee cooler. Freaking love that thing. I don't even own that. This Packout radio I do own. That is the best radio I've ever had. Absolutely phenomenally. And here's the contractor's package. Go over there and check it out. It's totally free to enter, but if you do happen to buy anything while you're there, we're going to give you another free entry for every dollar you spend. So check stuff out and go enter. Oh sharp. All right, guys. This is my nephew. And that is a sick looking trailer. You may recognize him from the Duck Dynasties. He was kicked off from the cast, but he never forgot. And so he just decided to keep the look. Mhm. Yeah. Um that is a sick looking trailer back. I like it. I like it. Brand new. Yeah. Yeah. Um, second time on the road. So, did you buy it on purpose with that big ding in the front? Excuse me. The right there. That did you hit something? Is that so you remember who you are, too? Yeah. Yeah. All right. All right. No, it looks great. It's a It's a beautiful trailer. I don't know anything about stealth trailers, though. I didn't really either. I just know I It fit my driveway perfectly to like within the foot. Um I had a buddy saying the black's a little bit hotter, but as I talked to the sales guys, he said the roof doesn't really matter cuz it reflects anyway. It's not the roof's not black and it's not transparent, so it doesn't have the greenhouse effect, you know? Okay. And I just figure once I get a vent in there, I can't imagine it's going to be terrible anyway. Is this all right right here for now? Yep. Perfectly fine. Yeah, that is a sharp looking trailer. Very sharp, huh? Wonder how much a trailer like that. How much the trailer that go for, Nick? Uh 82 8,200 bucks, huh? What is the axle rating on it? Uh nine Well, the axle 4500 each or Yeah. So, they come in for the DOT, I think, at 9,990 is what the the total gross trailer weight is. Yeah. But what's the axle rating? About 6,500 I think each axle. No, I think that's total total between what it recommends. Yes. Well, let's find out here. You always got to know what your axles are. That's the most important thing when you're buying a trailer. The axle rating determines gross vehicle weight. Each axle with tires cold 3,171 lb. 6,000 gross vehicle weight rating. 6,990 lb. Yes. I was just subtracting the So 7,000 lb is what you totally can have with this trailer with the weight of the trailer. Yes. Oh, you got a side door on it, too. Yeah. So, that's what I was talking about for this spring fade out was uh my plan is is to put I got to keep this lock. So, what I'll plan on doing is putting So, they used OSB in here. Okay. So, you got floor tie downs. You got an aluminum roof. Yep. To make it lighter. Cut out already. So, all I got to do is get up on the roof and so I can put the fan in and wire it in. I was looking at getting probably some lithiums or lithium batteries and maybe just a battery pack or a generator. Um, and then I'll put the door here depending on where the zeroturn goes over the axles, which it should be I can probably get it about right here. So, I'll put a piece of plywood. Are you going to cut you're going to cut the front off and use it as a debris loader in the fall? Yeah, I think so. And what I'll do is I'll run a door right here, kind of like a screen door, and then I can have it closed off to blow everything into here. Y and then a piece of wood will come across to keep everything from going back there. How you going to unload it through the door here? So, I'll have this screen door and then I That's going to be terrible. That'll be terrible. Well, that's the only thing I I You're going to You're going to hand unload it at that point, you know. Yeah, I'll just blow it out at the Yeah, I guess if I put tarps down as well, I could try to keep it on the tarps, but the thing is I don't know if I'm going to have the equipment with me when I get to the compost or not. So, that's the variable. True. Of whether or not it'll be blocked off. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. You can use the loader at the compost. Well, you got to be nice to them, but they sometimes they'll help you. But all right, let's show him what he's buying. 12,000. I don't know how much batteries are in there. Uh I'm just averaging about $300 per box. Some are going to be 200, some are going to be I don't know 400. So you figured roughly 12ish 12,000 total. That's what my guess is. Yeah. I mean, I know this thing's probably like 140 bucks. This Okay. These are This is about what two or have the wheels. So that one's probably almost This whole package is probably like 800 600 probably for all that. Uhhuh. Okay. I'm listening. I'm listening. I'd say about 12. I feel comfortable with 12. 12. That's going to be your guess for all of it. So now these are three different giveaways. Okay. So this is this is one. That's the contractor's pack. Boom. This is the packout pack. And then that's the landscapers pack. Um so that's not the most expensive one. It seems like to me if I had to guess. the landscaper path. Yeah. I don't know the details. The 15th. All right. So, now you guys got to guess since he's since he's into guessing mode. What do you guys think this the value of this package is? But some of you guys know cuz it's over on the website. I actually have the value of the package over there. So, some of you guys know. Don't give it away. Put your guess down below. And then uh we'll we'll we'll talk more about that in future videos. So Nick wanted a zeroturn sit down a rider. Are you a stand-on mower guy or a rider guy? If you were going to buy your first mower, would you buy a standon or a rider? Let me know what you guys think in the comments down below. For me personally, I would get a stand on before I would get a zeroturn sit down. I find them I think they're more versatile. They can get in and out of spaces a little bit better and I can hop on and off better so that I can pick up garbage, move stuff around, and also I think they're a lot safer than a sit down because if something happens to the mower, you just let go and let and jump off. That's my two cents. So, that's the mower I had to repo last year. It's got 22.5 hours on it. Is it 22.5 or 22.1? 22.8. 22.8. eight dual tanks Hustler. You guys tell me what do you like Hustler mowers. This will be the last Hustler mower that I have. Not because I don't like them. I actually love Hustler mowers. I think they're phenomenal mowers. Probably one of the better ones out there, but I don't have anything else Hustler, so I don't need to keep my Hustler at that point. So Nick is going to get my Hustler. Nick's not risking it. Oh, he's got a rear. Look at that. So, they told you at the dealership to install your own rear view camera. Uh, yeah. It I mean, it's it's 12vt wired. So, as soon as you put it in, it's click in, put your monitor up front. That's it for this brand. Huh. They do make other brands, which I would have to then probably steal from this. And I mean, that's fine if I do get it, which would be pretty nice to do. Yeah. if you get one. All right, got the the mowers loaded and ready to go. And then the Toro is up front. He's also picking up the Turf Master from me. That is the heaviest push mower I've ever had. That thing is a freaking tank. But that's a dang good push mower, too. That's a dang good push mower. And the Hustler Hyperdrive. You guys tell me. What do you guys think of Hustler? I want your two cents on them. I personally am a big fan. I do like the Hustler. I think they are just a good mower. Just I think they're one of the best to be quite honest with you. And Hustler is not paying me. This is the last Hustler I'll ever I own. I probably I won't be since I'm not mowing lawns commercially anymore. I will never need another one. So, she's she's saying goodbye. But that's it for this video. We got him loaded up. He's going to head down the road and I'm going to go out and do some grading work. So, we'll catch you guys on another one. God bless. Go get him. And if you're in Sartell, look up my nephew Nick. There you go. [Music]
