They Took my Loader!

[Music] today's video is brought to you by tariff yes tariffs on Canada made Universal Truck Service Center they sold every single loader they had including the one that I was leasing right out from under me but they're good folks and they replaced it with an even better newer model I can't make this up I'm also noticing some other impacts that the tffs have had uh locally on for guys like you and I I've talked to over the weekend over last weekend I talked to not one but two plow manufacturers both made out of Canada one of them has now switched their plow manufacturing to man Minnesota there's a whole new manufacturing company for a certain brand of snow plow not allowed to say it yet but you will probably know it here before it's too late is now going to be made instead of Canada in Mano Minnesota and the second one is not switching their manufacturing but this other company is switching their Major Distribution Hub to a place within the United States so they're creating a Distribution Hub so that they have this stuff already here inside the US can easily get it up I don't know what the advantage of that is but I'm sure there's a method to their Madness maybe they're crazy like a fox but today we've got a pretty cool video because we got a new machine and we're going to show you exactly what all it can do it's a little different than the last one so sit back and stay tuned the real difference between this machine and the other is this is a joystick and Tool you can operate this just like a bob K now so again the advantage to operating this wait a minute you're using the steering wheel I can do either okay what do we have to do to get the joystick enabled left button first okay and this is my selector for forward and back okay that's it and now we're now we're going to run this loader like a skid loader so I'm controlling my bucket with my right arm and I'm steering with my left one of the things that I've noticed as I I've been using this machine how quiet it is it is quiet you can turn the radio on it's it's the steering with the joystick it kind of gets you in the pit of your stomach a little bit when you're first operating you're not used to operating a big Bas yeah I'm not sure why though operator fatigue yeah I know but I don't know why they prefer a joystick control over a good oldfashioned steering wheel I've always told people that running a loader is the easiest piece of any equipment you could ever run if you can drive a car you can run a loader I know the big belly guys got that this is the one option they have to have the big belly guys yeah yeah kind of recline back a little bit in the chair and you know it doesn't just definitely takes away from any distractions operating like this you're you're you're paying attention to what you're doing your hands are in here true that is true but it's definitely thir option little bit more money but it's one of the top selling machines we have how many horsepower is this machine Mike couple hundred what is the price point on a unit like this so so the range in price you know if you get an off leas unit you could be as low as 150,000 based on just depending on what spec it has this is a really well equipped machine probably closer to the 190 Mark okay Auto Greaser joystick control every Bell and whistle there is for camera system LED lighting it's it's loaded to the hills so so this is this is the most well equipped machine I have Let's uh let's hook up to the bucket let's go move some snow all righty so now we're going to hook up to the bucket the Mike's going to show us how complicated that is [Applause] all right so I'm going to go under reverse with the joystick here oh I just touched the steering wheel see old people ah so anytime that you're in joystick mode you can still run the steering wheel it looks like yeah okay yeah you can uh if you touch a shifter it will disengage you okay so hitting the shifter is what is what turns it off just kicks it out yeah kicks it out okay makes sense I think it's a general rule small work steering wheel is just fine but long days pushing snow or just constantly working in egg and moving material all day long the joystick is super handy this is actually I do like joystick mode well yeah it's no different than running a skid but you you just got the the foot control of uh your throttle smooth I'm not doing all this yeah I suppose I guess you can still use the steering wheel if you want but in an emergency well I mean if you old school you feel like using the steering wheel you grab the steering wheel right oh Le that's nice so that way at least Jake wanted to try and relearn how to drive this thing yeah but if you know how to run a skid loader there ain't no learning on how to run this thing I mean well if you're you're used to a skid I think people just get intimidated by the fact that you're like I think it's the articulation yeah see look at all the families are coming out now yeah uhoh we got to be careful cu the kitties are going to want to come over and watch oh yeah they're already coming over they're like what are they doing with that Lo well I didn't think we were going to get much use out of this loader to be quite honest with you because it was the end of February and the weather was in the 40s 50s there was that days where it was almost record-breaking Warth but in typical Minnesota fashion it didn't let us down we got nailed with probably the largest it was the largest March snowstorm we've had since 2007 and it was Heavy wet thick heart attack
