Move Cattle for Rotational Grazing
At 22:23 in
Live from the farm...cattle move and hunting season has me concerned.
What happens here
The farmer walks toward his herd of black Angus cattle, along with a guard donkey named Tammy, who helps protect calves from coyotes. He notes the cows have been eating an abundance of fallen acorns. He then proceeds to move the cattle to a new paddock. This involves unhooking the poly-fence wire, allowing the cattle to pass through. He gently encourages hesitant cows, including a specific bull named 'Wooly Bully,' by entering their 'flight zone' (the distance at which an animal will move away from an perceived threat). He also briefly interacts with another cow, 'Karate Cow', who is seen eating gum tree leaves, highlighting their diverse diet.
Goal: Implement rotational grazing by moving cattle to a new paddock
