Laying down a Seal Krete high performance floor. Epoxy floor course coming. #industrial #epoxy

What happens here

With the floor prepped and clean, a clear protective topcoat (often a polyaspartic or polyurethane) is applied. Two individuals, both wearing spike shoes, use paint rollers attached to extension poles to evenly spread the clear coating across the entire flaked surface. They work methodically, overlapping their passes to ensure full coverage and a consistent finish. The spike shoes allow them to walk on the wet topcoat without leaving marks, enabling them to work efficiently across the entire floor. The topcoat seals the flakes, provides UV protection, and creates a durable, easy-to-clean surface.

Goal: Seal the flakes and protect the floor with a clear topcoat

Tools and materials

  • Extension Poles — Extending the reach of the paint rollers for efficient application
  • Paint Rollers — Applying the clear topcoat to the floor
  • Roller Trays — Holding the topcoat for roller loading
  • Spike Shoes — Allowing movement on the wet topcoat without leaving marks
  • Clear Epoxy Topcoat — Sealing the decorative flakes and providing a protective, durable finish
