What happens here
With the vertical posts firmly in place, the next stage is to attach the horizontal rails and then install the privacy layers. Two horizontal 4x4 green-treated timbers are mounted between each vertical post, forming the structural framework of the fence. Once the wooden framework is complete, a two-layer privacy system is applied. The inner layer consists of a black privacy fabric, which acts as a visual barrier. Over this, a heavy-duty wire mesh (such as hog wire or welded wire) is attached. This mesh serves a dual purpose: it adds rigidity to the fence structure and acts as a barrier to prevent animals, specifically German Shepherds mentioned in the video, from digging through or damaging the privacy fabric. The top edge of the privacy fabric is carefully folded over the upper horizontal rail for a clean, finished appearance.
Goal: Complete the fence framework and install the privacy screening.
